This was a prime example of what makes June so exciting on the minneapolis musky lakes. It was a bright sunny day, the lake was packed with pleasure boaters and it was well before prime sunset hours. But, we hit some quiet water and worked some deeper weeds that had schools of crappies around. First, we had several curious muskies follow to the boat but didn't strike, this is always a bit boost in confidence going into the evening. A short while later, this chunky muskie decided to eat a big swimbait about 20 feet from the boat. June is a great month to musky fish in Minneapolis, don't wait, book your trip now!

Lakes across central and southern Minnesota are starting to thaw and the spring crappie bite isn't far away. The spring crappie bite can be one of the coolest, most enjoyable bites of the season.
