The King Mackerel have come in amd boy are the big and hungry!

The Spring bite is here and its been awesome with a huge variety. Lots of Spanish Mackerel have moved into the bay making for great opportunities on the shorter trios or when the weather isnt cooperating. Nearshore we are getting King Mackerel, Bonita, and Spanish while trolling and bottom fishing we are seeing a lot of Snapper and Grouper, we’ve even caught a few very large Redfish nearshore in the Gulf. The Mahi have also started coming in and we’ve had the opportunity to pick up some very nice sized early season Mahi. Its going to be a great season this year.

Spanish mackerel will be in soon and vermillion snapper bite is hot right now

There is still a lot of Red Snapper being caught, their season is open on weekends the rest of the year. Of course vermillion snapper (beeliners) make great fish tacos and are plentifull this time of year. Lots of Bonito being caught as well but the Kings are still chewing most days as well as the occasional sailfish and Mahi!
