Book it! The ocean is beautiful, the sea life you'll see is amazing - and catching fish is a bonus!! We had back to back and double headers with the Bonitas.

Huatulco Fish On
Be prepared for offshore fishing with large swells (they were up to 2m or 7ft for us) with cross waves, being out for the day in the sun and without a bathroom on board which is just a part of fishing offshore in a 26ft panga. If you are fishing for marlin and sail fish be physically very taxing specially for the blue and black marlin but even a sailfish or stripped marlin is a big effort to land.

Any day fishing is a good day and even better when you're catching! Nothing of size on our trip but enough action to get the excitement up! Saw sailfish on the top water but nothing biting. The conditions were good but it was exceedingly hot. Catch was as expected for a short near-shore excursion. Looking forward to coming back during the rainy season to go after big Blues!

We caught 2 large sailfish in the afternoon of Jan 28/2025 but nothing else on our 5 hour 1:00-6:00 outing.
Saw plenty of bonitos, dolphins and tortugas.

Save your money and select a half-day of fishing in the morning.
We had a great time and enjoyed the morning. The afternoon was hot and boring. The lesson learned - fish a half-day and in the morning. This was confirmed by many of the locals after our trip.
