Cancun Light Tackle Fly Fish – 18'

Fishing was a little slower due to it being a full moon the night before, so the fish were feeding more at night. But our guide worked hard to find were the fish were biting and we still landed 5 fish in the boat on the 4 hour trip and hooked up on a couple other fish that came off before they got to the boat. Overall an awesome experience.

Stay focused, be quick and MOST importantly, stay relaxed. These fish won’t bite if you aren't calm. If you are fly fishing, it is crucial to know how to double haul accurately. 90% of the casts require long distances and pin point accuracy.

Not an expert by any means after one trip out in Cancun, but it seems like the winter months of December and thereabouts can be tricky or weather, despite Cancun being so temperate. Even though the weather got bad for a few hours, we were still able to fish out with areas of sun and calm, waters, and some beautiful experiences.

come with an open mind and try to have fun rather than expect to catch fish all day. our guide joking and talking with us was half of our experience and we were lucky enough to catch some memorable fish as well.
