Fresh Southold Fishing Reports

Between rainstorms, I took out Paul & Luke LeSueur for an afternoon trip. We had a steady bite all day, and the boys caught some nice weakfish, a few porgys, and a kingfish. Still lots of summer left, so give a call and book a trip.

This past Wednesday night, my wife Wendy & I went out for a Striped Bass trip to Plum Gut. The weather was beautiful with light winds, and a favorable tide. We got there a little early, and were catching bluefish, but as soon as the sun dipped below the horizon, it all changed. Wendy was the first to land a slot sized keeper Striped Bass. On our next drop, I was the first to hook up with the same slot sized fish. Limited out, we headed for home just as the sun was setting. An awesome night !!

Had a great trip yesterday with the Moriarty group. It was great to pick up three generations from their boat "Celtic Pride" and set off in search of fish. We headed up the bay to catch the last of the outgoing tide, and we hit it perfect. The kids had fish on the first drop, and we had a steady weakfish bite for about 2-hours. When the tide slowed, we moved farther down the bay, and found them again. The group landed many weakfish, and finished the day just shy of their 6-person limit. A great time was had by all, and some great memories were made.

Took out the Longua charter today - all the way from the American school in Saudi Arabia. The kids had a great time catching and releasing weakfish and porgies, while also putting 4 keepers and a large porgy in the box to take home. After their arms got tired, we stopped for a swim in the bay, which is perfect temperature now. Great trip and some memories made.

Took out the Giacovis boys today for some fishing on the Peconic Bay. We landed all the species, but had our boat limit if weakfish, with a large one thrown in to top off the trip.

Had a great charter on the 4th of July - a little kite flying, and some fishing.
