Started off slow this morning only catching one trout and one bluefish. With the poor but favorable conditions it didnt really pan out into our favor. This afternoon on the other hand we got into the sheepshead pretty well coming very close to our 3 man limit. This week is looking good so if youre in town don’t hesitate to press the book now button!

Bad weather different trip

I want to think a wonderful group of men from West Virginia. They had me for a tower trip to go and catch big fish but with the Northeast wind 20 to 25 there was no getting out in the ocean so instead they decided to go for a sound trip. With the sound real rough cold and not a very pretty day to be fishing they still went with smiles and were able to catch one Spanish and one blue fish. It's a very slow trip but I still appreciate them coming on the fishing taxi. From the crew of the fishing taxi tight lines and God bless

Due tonthe weather we chose to bottom fish and troll, caught small trout, flounder, croakers and some blues!

Contact the Captain you are booked with and get as much info as you can from him. Capt. Vinny knew what was coming with a late weather forecast change, and let us know the night before our trip what we were to expect. So we made a change of plans and set out on schedule to a different destination. May weather in North Carolina is somewhat unpredictable and changes fast. So keep in touch up to departure and they will put you on the fish!

We took two vehicles. Google Maps got one vehicle there fine. Apple Maps was a disaster and sent my daughter miles out of the way. Put the campground across the street in your gps if you are unsure you are going to the right place.

We have fished the surf and sound in the early season for years, but we would end up buying our fish at the seafood market. With the "Poacher" we went out 5 to 7 miles in the ocean and caught 25 sea bass. The 40 foot boat made us comfortable taking on large waves until we reached the fishing area. The captain and the first mate made fishing enjoyable for all. We are looking forward till we vacation again and book the Poacher for another fun time.
