Fresh Folly Beach County Park Fishing Reports

Nurture the young outdoor lovers in your crew by joining us on a 3 hr family friendly fishing charter. We will be targeting fish that should keep everyone busy using techniques that are easy to master. This charter takes place in the calm waters of the inland sound just a few minutes from the dock. You may keep the fish you catch however this trip does not include fish cleaning due to its short time frame. Today we caught Whiting, Sheepshead, Sea Bass and sharks. Everyone had a great time and we enjoyed plenty of action!

Had a great time with Lindsey and her girls on our 3 hour family fishing charter. We had calm morning conditions and Lindsey and crew got right to work along the jetties as we caught Black Drum, Redfish, Sea Bass and more. Ran a couple 4 hr trips recently and the bite has been good with a mix of small and large sharks and even a few big trophy class redfish caught recently too.

These anglers from the northeast have always heard about how tough Redfish were. They booked with the intention of experiencing the fight first hand. Our first spot paid off in numbers as we caught about a dozen Reds in the 15 to 18 inch range. All good fish but I knew where some bigger fish might be hanging so we were off to spot #2. We rolled up and found the fish layed up around some oyster beds. We drifted minnows back to them and I heard the drag screaming on a reel. We were hooked up on a big one. Over 32 inches and strong! We landed about 6 in that size range along with a dozen trout. Great day on the water!

We've been catching Redfish way back in the marsh for the past few weeks. Even though it's the time of year when many fish move into the main river, I'm finding more opportunities back in the creeks in 2 ft of water or less. Proficient casters and patient presentations have been the key to landing some beautiful Reds. I don't know how much longer this pattern will last, but it's a lot of fun. So I'll be at it until better strategies materialize!

Spring has settled in to Folly Beach! That means more sunshine, warmer water, and a larger variety of fish to target. With the current tide cycle we've been focusing on catching Redfish. I've still been able to find good size schools of fish that have been keeping us busy on most days. These fish are fun for anyone to catch so feel free to bring the kids. I also anticipate targeting sharks, speckled trout, flounder and whiting this week. So we have plenty of options. Keep in mind that this is a tidal fishery and even though I have start times listed for my trips, we may be going earlier or later than is noted on the website. After all, I want us out there at the most opportune time. Don't sleep on open dates, as we are filling up quickly for the season. Hope to see you on deck!
