#75 Greg Little of the Miami Dolphins and Deanna landed 17 Striped Bass up to 31 inches Sunday April 23 on the 3 hour 8am trip leaving from Liberty State park in Jersey city . Thats like a touchdown in fishing lol.

Each half day trip is yielding 15 to 25 Striped bass. This is not unusual for this time of year, however one out 7 fish are keeper size. There are simply more big fish around. Probably because of the more stringent size limits.

As Fall is approaching the fish migrations have started. Just yesterday September 4th the fish numbers in one particular area nearly tripled from last week. Of course this is a good sign. Every week forward more Striped Bass will migrate through my area and the Bluefish numbers normally hit their peak September 15 thru October 15.. The Striped Bass number however peak now and reach a maximum around Thanksgiving, but many many Striped bass are caught even up to the 2nd week of January. Our Giant Striped Bass ( fish over 40 inches some 40 pounds) are best to catch Oct 15 thru November 15. Also great Blackfishing Aka Tautog starts October 1st thru November
