A bit early in the season for striped bass but we made it work and found the few that were there. Raritan Bay is popular but lots of space to fish and move around if necessary while being fairly close to the dock so more time fishing and less traveling.

Would have loved to catch some Striped Bass but I don't think we went at the best time of year for them. We did catch a wide variety of other types, however, and several were even keepers!

Yes I would recommend fishing stripers for the first time in May. Jason from the Janie k sportfishing was excellent so was his deck hand both very knowledgeable and both went the extra mile for you to make sure you were comfortable and caught the fish you wanted.
