Be flexible and listen to your captain/guide. If you want to target a specific species you. A but run the risk of not catching anything. The captain will know what is and is not biting. If they make a suggestion I would listen because they want to put you in position to catch some fish and have some fun. So talk to them and make a game plan before your trip and take their advice into consideration and you will make some great memories just like I did!!!

We went early in the morning and it was a very smooth trip. A little on the cooler side but that was fine. The sun came out at the end of our three hour trip.

I think early morning fishing is the best. I suggest at least half a day. The sea was very calm, hardly any waves and easy to catch the fishes. If you go deeper into the sea, you should be able to catch much larger fishes.

There are many options this time of the year. The bass fishing in the local waters and at the islands are very active this time of the year. There is also a possibility of catching pelagic fish such as yellowfin and bluefin tuna. There is always yellowtail fishing either at the islands or just outside at the Horseshoe Kelp area.
