Guys, the kelps down south are starting hold yellowtail as are the Coronado Islands which I highly suggest. There is a $41 surcharge per passenger for a mandatory Mexico Visa per person. Passports are mandatory for the Coronado's as well. No visa or Passport is required 12 miles outside of the Coronado Islands and Mexican coastline. Water is 68 degrees. Lets go....

AM 1/2 day limits

Excellent bottom fishing continues with limits of Bocaccio and Red Vermilion(16 total) for four anglers. Plus, 6 more mixed species of fish. 21 total to end the day. Great numbers for first timers. Come get it while it's hot!

Fishy 4 hour inshore

May 15, 2025

Rockfish were biting today, on this beautiful sunny day with a little breeze. We were 1" away for limits of rockfish for two people(20). Our first stop yielded 8 ocean whitefish, 2 starry's, and 1 copper rockfish. Second stop landed 4 Red Vermillion, 4 Bocaccio, and 1 lingcod(released) that was 1" shy of minimum size.

Headed out at 6am to be greeted by calm conditions. Rockfish were biting good. Ended the day with 45 caught and 25 kept. The standout being this 7lb Red Vermilion.

Good Spring Shark Fishing Continues

Good numbers of sharks this spring with groups releasing at or near double digits of blue sharks every trip with a mako thrown in the mix on most days. Largest so far is a 500lb class mako.

Brothers Sport Fishing – 23 Parker

We went out on the trip hoping for yellowtail, but knew that it was still early in the season and they might not be around yet. We wound up bottom fishing the day of, caught some beautiful Rockfish, good sized, and came home with plenty to split between two households, and at least enough for 3 or 4 dinners for our family of 5 and a dinner friend or two.

We are used to catching bigger fish in the Gulf like snapper and grouper. The water was a little more choppy this trip so we feel like the weather had some bearing on not catching the bigger fish. We still had a great time.

We volume fished for Rockfish. Not a lot of fight but a lot of catch. We were pulling fish out after most of the casts. This gave those in our group that didn’t fish a chance to partake in the experience by preparing/ eating catch. Other fish may give more fight but fewer catches. Angler’s choice.

Action was good but not being able to keep Rockfish in October caught inshore is kind of bummer. But this charter did well to put us on keeper fish (whitefish) so still fun!
