The fushing is fantastic ! The day we went the river was raging..We had to go that day as days before weather wouldnt let us on the river. Cant help the river being blown out..Jay is a genuine guy with alot of knowledge and I have no doubt if the conditions were just a bit better we would have hammered them.Keep in mind the guides we saw on the river that day reported hard fishing and no action.. I highly recommend Jay Bird Guide service

Visit Malinda's Fly or Salmon River Outfitters to gear up. Book a guided trip with Locked with Lorensen, and plan to spend a couple of days hitting different spots along the river. It's really a unique and enjoyable spot.

Like any trip, it's "fishing " not necessarily "catching ". But putting a great Captain in charge of your trip with so much experience, maximizes you chances and experience. Would DEFINITELY recommend coming up to Oswego for a fishing adventure. Adventures are available spring, summer or fall for fishing.

Lake is very long, check where the boats leave from as some boat ramps are 10 mins away, while others are 50 minutes from Ithaca.

Far from an expert but from what I've seen the two times I been out this year, water temps are key. There's a spring hit and a summer hit. Summer hit is going to kick in soon, we were on the start of it today possibly from the full box of fish we caught. Actually missed two but all good

Understand about lead lines, understand about using bait fish hooks. Understand how to use a planer, if deep sea fishing. In the summer leave the beer and bring the water cooler instead. Drink after, if chartering a smaller fishing boat. Use the time to learn and understand so that you can do it yourself as well.
