Trip Summary

Snook season is a week away running September 1st thru December 15th. Regulations remain the same with a 28" - 32" slot , 1 per person. Livebaiting for snook is up to 3 people with a departure time around 7am. We must purchase livebaits while on the water at 20.00 a dozen when available. Larger groups of 4-6 people we mainly fish with shrimp which is included with the charter.

Fished the Dyment family visiting from Connecticut. Young Devin caught dinner for the family with 2 nice pompano. One fish was 13" to the fork but the large pompano was a whopping 21" and weighed 6.4 lbs which makes that fish the largest pompano ever caught on Catch 22 Fishing Charters in 33 years. Truly a fish of a lifetime.

With calm seas we had the opportunity to target Spanish Mackerel along the beach. Normally these macs start showing up in the Stuart area in December but this year thses fish stayed just north of us in Fort Pierce and Vero Beach until mid February where a recent cold front did push them south. Mackerel were caught while casting glass minnow jigs. Someze nice sized sheepshead over 4lbs and a bonus flounder on the bottom.

Fished the Martucci party this morning group of 5. A nice mix of catch and release mutton snapper, ladyfish, jack crevelle along with croaker, sheepshead and pompano for the dinner table. These pompano are just starting to show up and will remain here thru April of next year. All fish today were caught with shrimp on trollrite jigs.
