Trip Summary

September 29, 2026 – Sailfish Released and Wahoo Near Whale's Head Jeremy and Jodie brought their sons Jackson, age 10, and Toby, age 12, aboard the 43' Riviera Blue Sky for a five-hour family charter with Blue Sky Cabo Fishing and Tours on September 29. Visiting from Australia and staying at Esperanza, Auberge Collection, Team Australia found excellent action approximately two miles off Whale's Head with one sailfish successfully released and one wahoo. Cabo Charter Fishing Report – Trip Statistics and Catch Date: September 29, 2026 | Boat: 43' Riviera Blue Sky | Guests: 4 Charter: 5 Hours | Departure: 7:00 AM | Return: 12:00 PM Sailfish: 1 Released | Wahoo: 1 | Species: 2 Adults: 2 | Children: 2 | Team: Australia Location: Whale's Head | Distance Offshore: ~2 Miles Departure Dock: F Dock | Marina: IGY Marina, Cabo San Lucas Cabo Fishing Report Finds Productive Water Close to Shore The standout statistic from this trip was not simply the two species caught. It was where the action happened. Blue Sky found the fish approximately two miles off Whale's Head. For a family charter with two younger anglers, productive water that close to Cabo provides an important advantage. Less time running offshore means more of the five-hour charter can be spent actually fishing. Jeremy, Jodie, Jackson and Toby did not need a distant bank to encounter serious pelagic game fish. The sailfish delivered the billfish encounter. Sailfish are exceptionally fast predators and can produce dramatic surface runs and aerial displays during a fight. After Team Australia's encounter, the fish was successfully released back into Cabo waters. Cabo Charter Fish Action Adds a Fast Wahoo The second species brought a completely different fighting style. Wahoo are long, streamlined predators built for speed. Their initial acceleration after a strike can be explosive, making them one of the most exciting fish encountered around Cabo. Catching a wahoo and sailfish on the same five-hour family charter gave Jackson and Toby the opportunity to see two very different offshore species. The family aspect also made this trip stand out. Jeremy and Jodie were introducing their 10- and 12-year-old sons to Cabo fishing while visiting from Australia. The 43' Riviera gave all four family members a private platform for the morning, while the relatively short distance to the productive water kept the charter comfortable for the younger anglers. By the scheduled noon return, Team Australia had completed a five-hour Cabo fishing experience highlighted by one released billfish and one of the fastest game fish in the Pacific. 5 Marlin Caught and Released Charter Date: September 19, 2026 Charter Length: 8 Hours Boat: 43' Riviera – Blue Sky Anglers: 6 Catch: 5 Marlin – All Released September 19 delivered an outstanding day of billfish action for Mike, Myra, Al, Rhonda, Richard and Laura during their private eight-hour charter aboard the 43-foot Riviera Blue Sky. The group arrived with an impressive Cabo wish list that included marlin, sailfish, wahoo, mahi-mahi and tuna. By the end of the day, marlin had completely taken over the story. Five were caught during the charter, and every fish was successfully released. A Full Day of Marlin Fishing in Cabo An eight-hour charter provides valuable fishing time when the objective is to search offshore for pelagic game fish. The group fished from 6:00 AM until 2:00 PM, allowing the crew to continue working throughout the day rather than ending the trip after the first successful encounter. Catching five marlin required repeated resets. After each fish was fought and released, the crew returned the fishing spread to working order and prepared for another opportunity. That process continued until the anglers had accumulated an impressive five marlin releases. The purpose of a dredge is to create the appearance of a concentrated school of bait moving behind the boat, adding visual activity beneath the surface. For the anglers, much of the excitement comes from watching the spread and being ready when a billfish enters the presentation. A multiple-marlin day also keeps everyone involved. With six guests aboard, each new encounter created another round of excitement as the group watched the fight develop and waited for the fish to come alongside for release. Five Marlin and a 100% Release Rate The defining number from this charter was not simply five catches. It was five releases. Marlin Release Snapshot Result Total Marlin Caught 5 Marlin Released 5 Marlin Retained 0 Successful Release Rate 100% Blue Sky Cabo practices catch and release for marlin, and every billfish encountered during this charter returned to the water. Mike and the group originally hoped for the opportunity to experience several of Cabo's best-known offshore species. Instead, September 19 became a dedicated marlin story. Five marlin during an eight-hour charter gave six anglers aboard Blue Sky a memorable day of Cabo fishing and an excellent example of how quickly offshore action can build when the boat gets into productive billfish activity.

Cabo Fishing Report – September **hidden content** Marlin Released 5 Marlin Caught and Released Charter Date: September 19, 2026 Charter Length: 8 Hours Boat: 43' Riviera Blue Sky Catch: 5 Marlin Caught and Released September 19 delivered an outstanding day of billfish action aboard the 43' Riviera Blue Sky. Mike, Myra, Al, Rhonda, Richard and Laura joined us for a private eight-hour offshore charter with several species on their wish list, including marlin, sailfish, wahoo, mahi-mahi and yellowfin tuna. Cabo had a different plan. The day developed into a concentrated marlin bite, producing five marlin encounters and five successful releases before the charter was finished. Finding Productive Water While Fishing Offshore From Cabo With eight hours available, the crew had the flexibility to search offshore before concentrating their efforts once productive marlin activity developed. A dredge was incorporated into the trolling program. Running beneath the surface, the dredge creates the appearance of a moving concentration of baitfish designed to attract the attention of predators and bring them closer to the fishing spread. The approach produced repeated opportunities. Once the first marlin appeared, the pace aboard Blue Sky changed quickly. A hookup meant clearing and managing the fishing spread, assisting the angler through the fight and preparing for the release. Afterward, the crew rebuilt the presentation and went back to work looking for the next opportunity. That sequence happened repeatedly throughout the eight-hour charter. With six anglers aboard, each new fish brought another burst of activity. While one angler concentrated on the fight, the crew managed the cockpit and the rest of the group watched the action unfold. The most important part came alongside the boat. All five marlin were successfully released back into the Pacific. Each release was followed by another reset and another search for fish. Mike and the group began the morning hoping they might encounter several different offshore species. Instead, they found a concentrated marlin bite that became the defining feature of their charter. That is one of the interesting realities of offshore fishing around Cabo San Lucas. Anglers can begin the morning with several target species in mind, but conditions on the water ultimately determine where the best opportunities develop. On September 19, those opportunities were clearly centered around marlin. A Strong September Day of Fishing in Cabo An eight-hour charter gave the crew enough time to search, locate productive activity and continue working the area as additional opportunities developed. By 2:00 PM, the final result was five marlin caught by six anglers with every fish released. For Mike, Myra, Al, Rhonda, Richard and Laura, the variety originally hoped for was replaced by something just as memorable: an offshore day dominated by repeated billfish action. Five marlin caught. Five marlin released. One very productive September day on the waters outside Cabo San Lucas. Blue Sky Cabo Fishing and Tours F Dock, Centro, Marina, 23450 Cabo San Lucas, B.C.S., Mexico

Cabo Marlin Fishing Report – Five Marlin Released Near San Cristóbal September **hidden content** Marlin Released Returning anglers Bob and Alison headed offshore for another Blue Sky Cabo charter on September 16, and their decision to fish a second time during the same vacation produced an exceptional result. Fishing aboard the 43-foot Riviera Blue Sky with Captain Luis, the two anglers worked the San Cristóbal area during a six-hour morning and successfully caught and released five marlin. Cabo Charter Statistics and Fishing Results Charter Date: September 16, 2026 | Total Charter: 6 Hours Departure: 6:00 AM | Return: 12:00 PM Boat: Blue Sky – 43' Riviera | Captain: Luis Anglers: Bob & Alison | Fishing Area: San Cristóbal Species Caught: Marlin | Catch: 5 Marlin Marlin Released: 5 | Release Result: 100% Original Booking: 5 Hours | Bonus: 1 Complimentary Hour Dredge: Included | Transportation: Included Water Temperature: ~88.5°F | Air Temperature: ~79°F → 90°F Moon: Waxing Crescent | Illumination: ~32.6% Departure Dock: F Dock, IGY Marina | Sunrise: ~6:06 AM Cabo Marlin Fishing Develops Near San Cristóbal Bob and Alison weren't first-time guests. They had already been fishing with Blue Sky Cabo earlier in their vacation and chose to head offshore again. Their original booking was for five hours, but a complimentary additional hour extended the charter until noon. That extra time gave Captain Luis a six-hour window to search and continue working productive water. The crew concentrated its efforts near San Cristóbal. A dredge was incorporated into the trolling presentation, adding subsurface movement designed to imitate concentrated bait behind the boat. The first marlin established that billfish were present. The important part was what happened afterward. Instead of treating one successful encounter as the defining moment of the morning, Captain Luis continued working the area while the crew rebuilt the trolling presentation after each fish. More opportunities followed. By noon, Bob and Alison had experienced five successful marlin catches. Every marlin was released. Cabo Fishing Results Show Repeated Billfish Action Fishing Statistic Result Charter Statistic Result Marlin Caught 5 Marlin Released 5 Release Result 100% Anglers 2 Total Charter 6 Hours Boat Length 43' Fishing Area San Cristóbal Captain Luis Water Temp ~88.5°F Moon Illumination ~32.6% Five marlin for two anglers created repeated billfish opportunities during a relatively compact six-hour charter. The release result was equally important: five caught and five returned to the Pacific. Cabo September Fishing Features Warm Water Conditions around Cabo during mid-September included very warm water, with sea-surface temperature around 88.5°F. Morning air temperature was approximately 79°F and increased toward 90°F by noon. The moon was a waxing crescent at roughly 32.6% illumination. Those numbers provide useful context, but conditions alone don't locate marlin. Captain Luis still had to evaluate current direction, bait movement, water clarity and visible activity while deciding where to position Blue Sky. Productive offshore water can change quickly, which is one reason two charters during the same vacation can deliver completely different experiences. Cabo Marlin Fishing Ends With Five Releases Blue Sky Cabo releases marlin, and every fish caught during this charter was returned to the water. For Bob and Alison, their decision to book another fishing day resulted in considerably more than simply repeating their first experience. This was a new morning, a different set of offshore conditions and a five-marlin result near San Cristóbal. At noon, Blue Sky headed back toward Cabo San Lucas Marina. The final statistics summarize the charter clearly: two returning anglers, six hours aboard a 43-foot Riviera, five marlin caught and five marlin released. Ready to fish Cabo San Lucas?
