Cabo San Lucas is internationally recognized for its billfish opportunities, attracting anglers who travel to southern Baja California specifically to target marlin. Fighting a marlin requires coordination between the angler and crew. These powerful fish can change direction quickly, demanding careful rod handling and steady pressure throughout the fight. For a family group with varying levels of fishing experience, catching two marlin created an exciting opportunity to enjoy one of Cabo's signature offshore fishing experiences. Blue Sky Cabo promotes responsible billfish handling and catch-and-release fishing practices as part of its commitment to protecting the local sportfishing resource. Two Dorado Add Variety to the Cabo Fishing Catch Along with the marlin, Shelley's group caught two dorado, also commonly called mahi-mahi. Dorado are popular among Cabo anglers because of their brilliant coloration, aggressive strikes, and energetic fights. Their presence added another dimension to the day's offshore fishing. These fish are frequently associated with floating debris, baitfish concentrations, and productive offshore current lines. Catching marlin and dorado during the same charter illustrates the diversity of gamefish that makes Cabo San Lucas such an appealing destination. The final catch of four gamefish provided an excellent combination of billfish and dorado action for Shelley's family. A Private Cabo Fishing Charter for Ten Guests The 60-foot Bertram Blue Sea offered a spacious setting for Shelley's group of ten passengers. Several younger family members joined the trip, creating an opportunity for different generations to experience offshore fishing together. A private sportfishing yacht allows family members to share the excitement of fishing while enjoying their own vessel rather than participating in a shared charter. The group also arranged a dredge fishing system, a specialized trolling presentation designed to resemble a school of baitfish and attract the attention of larger offshore predators. For Blue Sky Cabo, accommodating returning families and groups of different sizes is an important part of delivering personalized private fishing experiences. Returning Guests Celebrate Cabo Fishing Success Shelley's return to Blue Sky Cabo made this outing particularly meaningful. Familiarity with the charter company and the opportunity to bring family members together helped shape another enjoyable day on the water. By the time the Blue Sea returned to the Cabo San Lucas Marina at 2:15 PM, the group had completed eight hours offshore with two marlin and two dorado. The combination of four gamefish, a private 60-foot Bertram, and ten family members made March 13, 2024 another successful fishing day for Blue Sky Cabo Fishing Charters.
