Trip Summary
Trip Summary
Over the past couple of weeks the air temperature has decreased for during the day and night. This has seen the fishing change; change from our summer species to our winter species. Their is a occasional barramundi being caught; over the cooler months they only occasionally feed. Target species over the cooler months may include Fingermark, Trevally, Queen fish, Estuary Cod, Bream, Silver Jew Fish, Grunter, Flathead, Blue Thread Fin and King Thread Fin.
The Mulgrave and Russell Rivers and Mutchero Inlet (40 kms south of Cairns) has kicked in for the winter months with Giant Trevally and Queen Fish entering the system in schools. A River Fishing Charter is a fantastic option for the keen fisherperson using poppers and live baits; this can be a great option when the weather is too windy on the reef for bottom fishing.
