May is a phenomenal month to target pre spawning snook as they migrate to their designated spawning grounds . We are seeing snook in numbers & they are fired up ! Live baits & top water lures have been key. As we further into May & June the snook fishing should continue to progress. Tarpon have been showing up in canals & around docks. They are next to arrive in greater numbers. Spring is so exhilarating! Now is the time to hunt down that trophy Snook or Tarpon that is highly sought after along Floridas Coast’s. Tarpon season is upon us! As summer heat begins to increase so do the numbers of tarpon! Live finger mullet, threadfins & pogies have been excellent baits , we are finding best opportunities in the early morning’s & late afternoons with the exception of small feeding frenzy’s happening at specific mid day points. Canals , mangrove shorelines and deeper sandy flats have been key areas of focus. The snook bite has also remained steady as they continue moving towards their yearly spawning grounds.
