I have been an avid angler and boat owner since I was young and have been on numerous charters. To say this charter was great is an understatement.
We were picked up promptly at the dock after arriving from our hotel using transportation arranged by the Captain. We left the dock after meeting the Captain and mate setting line as we departed.The mate then proceeded to make us comfortable as he started to give us a history lesson of the Islands.
During our trip we caught a nice Bluefin Tuna,Golden Grouper and Dragon Fish.
Midway through the trip we anchored up in a cove in calm waters and given the opportunity to snorkel while the Captain prepared lunch.We we’re then treated to lunch consisting of the fresh caught Grouper,Greek Salad,Tomato Fritters,bread and wine. This has to be the cleanest most family friendly and best kept boat I have ever sailed on.
If you are looking for a charter in Santorum and don’t use Pirate Charters it is your loss.I highly recommend them.

He will ensure you are safe and Elias will entertain you with stories and the history of Santorini. Captain Makis, a long time fisherman will do his best to catch fish and they will prepare the freshest and most delicious meal you will eat on Santorini. Our 11 year old son is already begging to return and our entire family would adore another trip with Makis and Elias. Our teen daughter wasn’t really interested in a fishing trip but even she had an amazing experience. Makis and Elias ensure you will be safe, happy and entertained. The boat is immaculate!  Makis extensive knowledge of the island allows him to navigate to areas you won’t be able to see on other tours. Over a 5 hour trip, we didn’t feel like strangers, we felt as if we were with family.  I cannot say enough good things about Makis and Elias as people and as sea men. Do yourself a favor, book this trip! Even if you aren’t interested in fishing, book the trip for a delicious meal and behind the scenes views of Santorini. We will be back next year even if just for another fishing trip—this time I’m going to book a double trip—that’s how good it was!!!! Makis and Elias, the best trip in Santorini and perhaps Greece!!!!

So many reasons this was above and beyond what we expected…
1. The captain, Mikis and first mate were so friendly, funny, and knowledgeable. We not only had a first rate captain but he is also a wonderful chef and photographer too! We learned all about the history of the island and saw many beautiful sights. We caught fish for our lunch, swam, and snorkeled in clear beautiful clear waters seeing an under water sunken ship and abundant marine life.
2. The brand new Bertram was both beautiful and comfortable. Plenty of room on deck with both shade and sun as well as large cabin and bathroom.
3. Lunch was amazing with the freshest ceviche, grouper, Greek salad, tomato fritters, bread, beer, wine and sodas. Honestly one of the best meals we’ve had- although the stunning view and company could have been a factor.
4. Right back to #1 again because I can’t say enough about how welcoming these two handsome men were. They made our family of 4 feel like close friends, if not family.
I would absolutely recommend this trip to anyone visiting Santorini- it will be the highlight of your vacation!

This was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had!! Makis and Elias were absolutely fantastic! My husband and I came to Greece for our honeymoon and we did a lot of different excursions, but this one by far was the best thing we booked! We went fishing, got told about the history of Santorini, Elias gave us multiple photo shoots, we got to snorkel in a private cove by the volcano, Makis cooked the grouper we caught for lunch along with tomato balls, Greek salad, tzatziki, and garlic bread! They are both so knowledgeable and Makis grew up here in Santorini practically living his whole life on the water! I am so excited to have had this experience and definitely recommend booking for your trip to Santorini!!

Captain Makis and his first mate llias were great! First communication before the trip was phenomenal. We did a 5 hour and Makis brought his boat to where we tender ashore from the cruise ship and picked us up and dropped us off. We caught 3 Bonito and 1 barracuda. We played music and talked about our families and Llias gave us allot of history and pointed out interesting things to see. Captain Makis (the Pirate) designed and had this boat built about a year ago. At around hour 4 we pulled into a cove and they made us an awesome lunch including the barracuda and Bonito. Wow what a meal! Good food, good wine and good conversation all while catching fish great way to spend time in Santorini.
