Unfortunately, this fishing charter left a lot to be desired. While we did catch fish, the overall experience was frustrating. The captain was overly focused on micromanaging every aspect of the trip, talking non-stop and using foul language, which made the atmosphere uncomfortable. He seemed more interested in getting the perfect photo than helping us enjoy the fishing itself.
Instead of focusing on our experience, he often acted like the โboat police,โ yelling at other captains he felt were violating laws. To make things worse, his power poles werenโt working, so we spent excessive time on manual anchoring and repositioning instead of fishing. Overall, we lost valuable time and interest due to his behavior, and the experience felt inadequate. I would not recommend this charter if youโre looking for a relaxing and focused fishing trip.
If you need everything done for you, and want to listen to the captain talk and oldies, this is the guy for you.

The fact that I couldnโt use my Power Poles had nothing to do with your experience or a loss in fishing time. I wouldnโt have used them at the bridge, or on the large grass flat that we fished anyway.
I worked my butt off today, and we caught plenty of fish, but I could tell you were disappointed because you were trying to increase your score in a local fishing tournament and they didnโt meet your expectations. I canโt make larger fish bite. Itโs even more difficult when people are motoring right next to you in no motor zones and yes, I let people know when theyโre violating the law. As far as, profanity, I donโt recall using any overly profane language. You make it seem like I was cussing during the entire trip.
As for my selection of music. Itโs too bad you didnโt enjoy the few songs I played off of the Forrest Grump soundtrack. I played those during the end of your trip in honor of Veterans Day. If asked, I would have gladly turned it off at anytime.
I even offered to expend your trip, due to your obvious concerns over a perceived lost of fishing time and you declined.
In closing: I have a suggestion. Since you live in the Tampa Bay area and own a boat, maybe you should consider fishing alone. You might possibly enjoy yourself more, just possibly!

The captain of the boat is very knowledgeable about fishing in the area. We just didnโt catch anything we could keep.
So, just because you didnโt catch any keepers, I get a four-star review! You failed to mention your party caught numerous snook at every stop. Everyday is different on the water, but I can assure you, no one works harder to put you on fish. Thanks for choosing Afishionado.
