Looked for a charter and came across Giana Helena and Capt Lou. We are very fortunate to have found him. Captain Lou and his first mate Jeff are not only fun and accommodating to your needs, they are extremely knowledgeable of the fish in their area. We had a fantastic trip with them and limited out on striped bass mainly because of Captain Lou.  I 100% will book with him when we go back out to Montauk next time.

Had a very great trip catching our limit for striped bass, also caught and released some huge 40 plus pounders. Action from start to finish. Capt Lou knows all the spots, sets you up for success and gives exceptional customer service. He is very attentive, anticipated every need and created a perfect experience. I planned this fishing trip for my dad’s birthday and we had a blast. Caught and released over 25 fish, 4 species, and kept a few for a fish taco lunch. Would 100% recommend him and the Gianna Helena for anyone looking to have a guided fishing expedition out of Montauk!

The experience on Board the Gianna Helena Was second to none.  I’ve been fishing for over 40 years and have been on many charters and found Capt Lou to be the best I’ve encountered.  He was extremely accommodating, friendly and respectful to the whole party.  The boat and fishing tackle was clean, comfortable and top notch.  I understand the fact that we had an epic day catching fish was also due to the weather conditions, tides and overall great timing, Capt Lou knew exactly where to put us and maximized our fishing experience.  I have faith that even in tougher conditions, the Capt will put his years of experience to use and put you on fish.  I highly recommend this captain and boat if your planning on fishing in montauk.

Capt. Lou really knows the local hotspots and worked non stop to keep the action going. In the face of adverse weather conditions we bent rods on blue fish, porgies, fluke and stripers all on the same trip. Not only is Lou the best fishing guide but was a wealth of knowledge about local area dining and attractions. You will end your day of fishing with a smile on your face and a new friend.
