The diesel line broke on the engine while we were out at sea and we were actually dead in the water for about 35 minutes and then had to limp home. I was only given a $100 refund but we stopped fishing at 10 AM. We did troll as we lived home, but we were off the fishing grounds already.
Weather was cloudy and choppy. Got out on 4 hour after noon trip. Caught a few fish. Got one for my boys each and one for my self. Guys were awesome and fun to fish with. Vary knowledgeable overal a great time had by all. If all goes well we will return next year and will be going out with these guys for a full they next year. Hoping for same guys. Highly recommend them. Family vacation my family won’t ever forget. Thanks to these guys.
I understand that it is called fishing, not catching. I have been on several fishing excursions around the world and rarely does the adventure go as imagined in my mind. We had a 6-hour charter scheduled. The taxi picked us up on time and the owner was very professional. Once onboard, you could tell that the first mate had very little experience. During the trip there were several times that we were dragging seaweed on the top bait lures, and he had no idea. One time, after I noticed that one of the lures, using older “live” bait looked funny. The first mate pulled in the line and noticed the bait was cut in half. The “live” bait was not taken care of properly once on board and smelled off. Another time, we had a shadow tracking and attacking our other line. Then the fish went away. We dragged that bait for over an hour before the first mate pulled in the line and saw that the line had been cut and there was no hook. Last, there was several times where we had to get the first mate from the cabin, where he was very concerned about vaping, to reel in the lines to get the seaweed off. The waters around the DR are very rough. If you plan on fishing there, you will need an iron stomach or Dramamine. I did not have any issues, but people on other boats looked green upon return. Friends of mine we in another boat and 8 of 9 people were hanging over the side. Accept the fact that people will be sick.

From the driver that picked us up from our resort (on time) to the boat crew, it was a Great day! We chartered a 4 hr fishing experience without really expecting to catch anything in that short amount of time! Communications using Fish Booker app were also great! We had hoped to reel in a few fish for our son but ended up reeling in a Beautiful Blue Marlin! Yeah, Baby!! First Blue Marlin for me so it was exciting! It was all fun!
