This was an awesome trip.  Captain Steve and First Mate, Elliott, were excellent.
When I say we were pulling up fish nearly all day, I am not exaggerating.  They were spot on with their guidance and advice, and kept moving and looking for the best spots.  Sculpin, Sheep Head, Red Fish, White Fish…all were there and kept us busy.  Special kudos to Elliott….he kept us moving, and baited, and cleaned all of our fish.  Truly a great partnership with this crew.  Highly recommend. 

I took my son and nephew out for a graduation gift on the Ocean Spirit with Capt. Steve, and mates Elliot and Dave. It could not have been a better day! Capt. Steve knew all the secret spots and Elliot and Dave we’re on the spot helping us bait and haul up about 20 beauties: lingcod, whitefish, redfish, sand dabs and sculpin- all great eating! I can’t say enough good things about Capt. Steve and the Ocean Spirit experience. We’ll be back for sure!

Our group of 6 had a great time fishing for sculpin in the morning and bass/sheeps head in the later morning. We were able to catch sculpin almost non-stop. The captain found us a great spot and many other large sport fishing boats joined in the catch. We caught fish continuously for over 2 hours and enjoyed it thoroughly. The 1 deckhand did a great job rigging our line and making the whole experience easy. The sculpin presented their own challenge but he simplified the process. Afterwords we went for bass and had some luck but not like the sculpin.

The boat offered a good amount of space outside for fishing, mainly in back but good room for anyone wanting to fish on the bow. The inside quarters and gally were comfortable and casual during the ride. The microwave and sink made it easy to prepare basic foods and drinks. Would be comfortable for a longer trip or even over night for larger fish off Catalina or other islands. We look forward to joining again in the future.

No frills just gills. He picked the right spot and we caught a few fish a piece. He gave us options based on our propensity for sea sickness and skill level. His first mate Dave was an expert fisher man who gave us pointers and cleaned the fish. They were a great duo. Would totally do this again 10/10.

This trip was a 40th birthday gift for my boyfriend and it was AMAZING! Our party of 6 went fishing at 6 AM in late January which is technically an off-season, it honestly didn’t seem that way because of the different species that we caught.  Captain Steve and his deckhand, Dave, were very polite and accomodating of some of the first-timers that joined our party.  Dave helped prepare the included rods and tackle including some additional rods that we brought. The boat was great. Plenty of room in the salon to eat, nap, and drink. We will definitely be booking again with Captain Steve at I’m Your Captain Charters this summer! Thank you so much for helping us make some new and fun memories!
