We had an 8 hour trip out of cabo san lucas with Hollywood. Who while a very colorful person is very fun and was an incredibly nice guide! However, I was really disappointed with the experience. This listing (when we booked) stated it had a fighting chair (which has now been removed as an amenity) and a toilet (which now reads porta potty if you hover over it). Neither were there. There was no fishfinder, we were the fishfinders with our eyes. When I asked for the toilet he said they had a “mexican toilet.” Which apparently means sticking your butt off the side of the boat (later Jaime claimed there was a porta potty which I did not see nor does it really matter). I held it for the last two hours since I didnt want to pee in front of my bf, dad and the guide on a 23 foot boat. The boat is in really bad shape and broke down twice on the way back. The hooks are dull and one of the reels was broken. We asked and paid $30 extra for live bait and we got ballyhoo (dead fish) instead. The food are chips from costco and the drinks are water bottles or coca cola.
When I reached out to Jaime about a refund since he had misrepresented the boat, he suggested that our guide Hollywood return the tip we gave him. I stated that hollywood had earned his tip but that he had advertised the boat with amenities he didn’t have, so that is why we requested a refund and that Hollywood deserved to keep his tip. The picture above is Jaime trying to tell me that there’s a difference between a bathroom and toilet. If there was a porta potty, I wouldn’t know but it is still not a toilet. As you can see in the picture, toilet is not bolded and a toilet does not = porta potty. I would have easily paid extra for a different company to get the amenities we needed.
Anyways Hollywood was very nice but we ended up buying another fishing trip with another company (guluarte’s fleet) who were EXCEPTIONAL. To be fair and not to misrepresent, this trip was out of san jose for 6 hours and we paid $150 more. BUT the boat was an amazing carolina classic with a below deck that had a lil kitchen, bathroom and an awesome speaker system. It came with a deck hand and captain that worked their butts off to try to get us fish and we got the live bait that we asked for. Additionally the equipment was in such amazing shape! We had like 8 rods that were way more expensive for us than what we should have got for that price. I saw another daliken boat go to the same place as us in san jose that was a little bit better than the boat we got in cabo san lucas but still no bathroom. Anyway the point is you get what you pay for. $240 is cheap for a boat but I thought it was steal with all the amenities listed but no. You get exactly what they can afford for an 8 hour trip at $240, bad equipment and a “the worst boat my dad has ever been on in 30 years of fishing in Cabo” and that includes every ponga.

I am very sorry the boat not like you Normally boats you book do not have a private bathroom. Also in Daliken sportfishing we have boats with private bathrooms but they are bigger options. About the drink, it is not (includes alcohol) is specified in the listing Daliken sportfishing boats Not includes alcohol, only soft drinks and snacks are included. The bait is always an additional cost of $ 20 dollars but you spent 8 hours so Captain Hollywood chose the ballyhoo option because with that type of bait he was catching a lot of fish. I Sometimes the fishing is slow. Also, you cannot give a reference about the boats we have in San Jose del Cabo since you have not had a fishing experience with us on those boats. We were quite disappointed to learn that this trip was NOT what we expected. It states there is a toilet, snacks and drinks provided. This was false. The crew had zero snacks for an 8 hour fishing trip and a bucket to use as a toilet. For a woman this was totally unacceptable. Very false advertising. We asked the crew to return to the marina after only 4 hours of our trip as I needed something to eat and to use the restroom. I highly suggest accuracy in the description of the trip to reflect a bucket as the toilet and no snacks. We were extremely disappointed. I will say we did catch 2 fish while out but the inaccuracy in the description was very frustrating.
Response to captain Jaime G’s comments: I would like to clarify that we did not return to the marina due to me or my husband being sea sick. This is a blatant lie. We returned for me to get a snack (there were none on the boat) and use a restroom, not the 5 gallon bucket, that was on the boat. I did ask the two guides that were on the boat for a snack and they both advised that they had NO snacks. Yes, they had drinks (water and coke) available, but no snacks. We were also not upset about not having much luck with the fish. We caught 2 in our 4 hours out. A yellow fin tuna and a mackerel. This is completely outside of the guides control as you can’t control when/where the fish will be. We were simply upset about the description specifically stating snacks were provided and that there was a toilet. These two were incorrect. A 5 gallon mobile oil bucket is not a toilet and there were no snacks. Again, neither of us were seasick. That was a blatant lie.

I think everything mentioned is unfair. Since the boat did have drinks on board and snacks (chips) when we mention snacks (we are talking about chips) that is why we do not offer the option of lunch included so you bring what you like to bring on the fishing trip. This boat is also a panga, it does not have the resources of a Center console are larger and more spacious, so everything is explained in our book. to detail and we do not have this type of situation. We also clearly specify toilet not private bathroom. you decided to return early because your wife was seasick and you did not want to continue fishing for that reason. There are days when fishing is not good and we can do nothing, just do the best for you to catch your fish. We do everything comes in the book about the fishing we do and what the boat includes. That is why our past reviews are good.

These guys are dialed in for trigger fish and other reef critters. Super low priced. Good for tourists and beginner fisher people.

We are professional fishermen and our captains are trained for any type of fishing, remember that the day you went fishing A storm came and our captain returned to fish closer to the port for your safety. That is why the fishing was bottom fishing and it was only that fish that came out. sometimes we can’t control The fishing and much less the weather.
