Our captain was awesome! He was the only good thing about the trip. We booked a four hour shark trip that was supposed to include the bay but unfortunately the waves were to much for the aluminum boat so we fished inshore and
River mouth with only a few catfish and one 16” - 18” bonnethead.

Guide, Derek, was fun, friendly, charismatic, but I feel like we got the runaround due to poor weather, and low expectations for fishing. We were supposed to bowfish, but booking partner reached out hours prior to discuss possibly shark fishing and gigging due to poor water clarity from heavy rains. I told them we were ok with this but would still like to bowfish if possible. First off, meeting location changed from what was advertised with additional 20+ min of driving. Upon arrival, we decided to try some shark fishing first and depending on the action retreat to mangroves to gig or bowfish. We wasted 3 hrs running out to shark spots that produced 0 action to then move into the mangroves with one spot light and one gig for 4 guys. It’s fishing and you never know what mother nature will deal you, but they seemed very unprepared for what we had originally booked. Water clarity wasn’t great, but manageable if we had been properly prepared. Had the boat been actually equipped with lights and more spot lights available there would have been better opportunity. Visibility was more limited by darkness that water clarity. I don’t even think there was a bow on the boat, nor could the captain tell me what kind of bows they used. Derek seemed like an accomplished fisherman, but I can not recommend their bowfishing trip, as I am not sure they are even equipped to properly provide the service. As a previous outdoor guide myself, we remained courteous and tipped appropriately, but overall, it was a very disappointing effort for what we booked.
