Captain Alex was great! He picked my wife and I up on time at our hotel which was about 30 minutes from their marina. While driving he explained the history of the island and answered all our questions as we saw things that caught our attention. We unfortunately had rough seas, at least for us Marylanders. Due to the rough seas my wife ended up getting sick and Captain Alex was kind enough to offer a great solution which was to take my wife back to the marina where there was a pool she could enjoy while we continued to fish. The fishing was slow but Alex was able to get me onto a few fish which made the trip. I would highly recommend Captain Alex and we look forward to fishing with him again.

We had a fun time fishing with Captain Alex! He picked us up from our hotel (fee) and told us about the region and fishing info (like avoiding ciguatera poisoning) on the drive to the marina. His boat was comfortable and even though I was nervous about the waves, I quickly relaxed when I realized how skilled he was and how the boat handled on the water. We trolled when heading to the sites for bottom fishing (and when going back to the marina; no hits while trolling, but we were fine with that), and we quickly caught fish. We caught tilefish (used for bait) and strawberry grouper (delicious!). My husband and I both caught fish before Alex started fishing with us, and at the end of the trip he asked what we wanted to keep of the total catch. He caught more fish than us but was happy to give us everything, which he cleaned and bagged for us to take to our hotel for dinner! We had a fun, safe time with Alex and would definitely fish with him again if we come back to the area!

We spent ample time fishing for our live bait.  We asked to fish closer to shore for more opportunities but it was disregarded.  Only caught one fish when we made our way out to deeper water about 60-70 meters. Very friendly but only spoke Russian and 99% had to be translated through our phone which made it tough.

Although our trip didn’t go quite as planned with my son getting sea sick very early into the trip, Captain Alex was amazing. Communication before the trip was excellent and he advised us to change dates for calmer waters and weather. He also arranged a transfer from us from our hotel. The boat and equipment was great and captain Alex himself was exceptional. His knowledge of the island as well as fishing experience was clear to be seen and he was very attentive to my son when he was ill, giving us all the advise we needed. I couldn’t recommend him more highly.

Capt. Alex is a great guy! Very knowledgeable about fishing and the island in general. We trolled out to the reefs where we did some bottom fishing. It was a bit of a slow day fishing, but that happens. Alex did everything he could to put us on fish. I fish often, and it was obvious that the conditions were not good for trolling. We started out catching some fish on the reefs, but then they just cut off. Lots of nibbles, but nothing wanted to bite. Ended up with 7 fish, but had a great time on the water with Alex. Highly recommend!
