We had a great day with Captain Doug.  While there were six of us on the charter, our primary focus was having the two kids (8 and 12 yrs.) catch some fish.  I had requested in advance that the shark-crazed 8 y.o. get a chance to catch a shark or two, if possible.  Being from Michigan, that would be a big deal!  While our first stop didn’t produce any sharks, it did give us a little time to catch some smaller fish and get acquainted with Captain Doug, the equipment and the process (all saltwater newbies).  After 30 minutes or so of minimal activity, Captain Doug suggested we relocate maybe 100 yds or so to the other side of the sandbar.  After that, it was non-stop for the rest of the day!  No one can really remember how many sharks we caught, but it was A LOT.  Doubles and triples were not uncommon, with everyone on the boat catching several.  We all had so much fun that we didn’t end up leaving that location.  Captain Doug was a great host and was very helpful with the kids and adults alike.  We were all pretty worn out by the end of the trip.  We will definitely use Captain Doug again when we go back to Anna Maria.  We may even let him put us on something other than shark next time… maybe. Great times and a great charter!

Captain Doug is totally a Jewell of the Bay!  We had had a great day and awesome experience.  Was looking for a memory making day with my 82 year old father, Captain Doug provide all I could have wished for!  Highly recommend Captain Doug !  We will be back to see him again!

Great trip with young teens.  Prefer everyone catching fish vs looking for a trophy.  We got what we were after.  Captain Doug put us on fish, 15 minutes out.  Mackerel and grouper.  Second spot, more mackerel, a remora, and a lady fish.  Third was snook.  Put your cast in the right spot and instant hit.  Pretty steady action all morning, at least for 3 of us.  We were catch and release, but could have had some in the cooler.  No frills, not a luxury cruise, just fishing and smiles from all.

Captain Doug was fantastic. He took care of everything, all we had to do was show up.

Captain Doug was an awesome captain and just a friendly guy.  We had a great 1/2 day trip and captain Doug went out of his way to make sure we were on top of fish.  He took us to four different locations and caught 12-13 different species of fish.  Highly recommended and when we are back at Anna Maria we will be calling him again.  I’ve been on numerous other fishing trips and this is top notch.
