Our first charter fishing trip, our party consisted of myself, my two children aged 10 and 11, and my parents in their 70’s. We didn’t know what to expect but Capt. Jimmy made it a totally fun experience. We started on fishing for flounder with the captain explaining all the steps. We didn’t catch much with that set of equipment and bait but it was still fun feeling for a bite. We next moved to redfish and hit paydirt. Jimmy tried a few different baits and we hit 3 big redifsh in a short span. My mother fought with and caught an 8 pounder, maybe 20 in., then my father brought up a 9 pound 23 incher, and finally my son with the captains help wrangled an enormous 34 inch, 14 pound redfish. We also caught several smaller fish such as croakers and pinfish and it was a lot of fun trying the various baits and techniques. I would definitely go again, and I’d make sure to go with Captain Jimmy, he was awesome!

My sons and I joined Captain Jimmy, assisted by Captain Seth; on Saturday morning April 29th for a half-day trip. Jimmy demonstrated his knowledge of the area and took us to a couple of different areas in the coastal waters as well as finishing up inside the north jetty. We caught Spanish Mackerel, Grey Trout, and a few Black Seabass. The fishing equipment was in excellent condition as was the pointers and tips he provided us to help assure our success on the water. It was a memorable trip with my sons and the fish was excellent for dinner on Sunday night when we had returned home. Definitely would recommend and hope to do it again during a different season to hopefully catch some other species.
