We had so much fun this morning with Gerald and Robert! They were kind, knowledge, and worked very hard to make sure we were successful in catching! They even brought snacks and prepared fresh fruit for us to try some local dishes (green mango with lime and salt - delicious!). We will absolutely charter with them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking to have a fun, relaxing day out in the water.
Guys were nice, put us on some fish (caught 1 rooster, 1 jack, 1 lizard fish; missed 3), just not the same level of experience with leading a charter as Iโve seen with other trips.
We are so thankful we chose this crew for our half day fishing expedition. They were extremely kind and encouraging to all three of my sons. My middle son caught a huge sailfish! My other two sons caught a black tuna and Mahi Mahi! They served up the caught Mahi to us with pineapple, chips, and salsa. Very tasty! Be sure to book your trip with these friendly guys. You wonโt regret it!
Had a blast. We went about hour or so out and within 15 we were hooked up on a sailfish and yellow fin tuna. Then we had a fantastic tuna lunch. After that we were back into the yellow fin. 1 sail, 8 yellow fin,2 bonita. The guys were great, even took us to a couple bottom fishing spots. No fish, but had a few bites and appreciated their effort to give us every experience.
I would have to give five stars for the boat ride on a beautiful morning and one star for the fishing. Didnโt catch anything after trolling for over two hours so we asked if we could try some bottom fishing. Crew had a hard time actually giving us the reels. It seems like they are used to only having people reel something up when they catch something which is different from other fishing trips weโve done. We did catch a red snapper that we ate that night as an appetizer for dinner. The boat ride itself was great. The best part was seeing a pod of dolphins jumping through the water with a couple babies flopping around. We also learned about the rays that jump out of the water in this area and saw a few jumping out of the water from a distance. A cooler full of beverages for relaxing and fresh watermelon for a snack. It is also convenient that there is a tiny bathroom. We finally gave up on fishing - no one else was catching anything either in the other boats - and stopped by a beach for snorkeling on the way back. Water was pretty cold though and not a lot to see. Found better snorkeling back at playa Ocotal.
