Captain Donny was excellent!  Patient with the kids, told them age appropriate jokes, and made sure each was getting their turn to bring in fish.  He used his experience to find excellent spots and even find a new one when we couldn’t get the snook to bite.  We caught mangrove snapper, snook (of course), mackerel, seatrout, needlefish, pinfish, reef shark, flounder, ladyfish, and an unfortunate number of saltwater catfish.  All in only four hours.  We kept 8 snapper (two of which he caught to make sure we had enough), 3 mackerel, and 3 seatrout; all of which he fileted for us when we got back to the dock.  In all, I think we pulled in around 50 fish.  I won’t be looking for another charter the next time we go out, Reel Experience was perfect!

My wife and I had a trip with Capt. Donny for a midweek trip but weather wasn’t good so went on Friday. 10min. from ramp we are trout fishing waiting on tide. Caught a couple then moved. Snook were everywhere and caught 8-10 in about 30 min. The fish just shut down could see them but they wouldn’t bite. Moved to a few more spots with little action but that’s how fishing is. Made a move back to a spot that was slow and bam fish everywhere. We probably caught 40 for the 6 hr trip we had. I want to thank Donny for paying attention to my wife as an angler not just someone else on the boat. She out fished me numbers and size wise. I would recommend Capt. Donny for anyone who is a seasoned angler or a novice or anywhere inbetween. He will make sure everyone is catching and for those of us like me gives a little ribbing getting out fished by their better half. Been on more than 20 charters and trust me when I say he’s a class act and we will be back on his boat every time we are in the area.

The day we went fishing, there were horrendous winds and we weren’t sure if we would be able to catch any fish.  The winds definitely put a monkey wrench into the captains plans.  He was able to make the adjustments and put us in spots where we were able to catch fish which was fantastic.

Captain Donny was fantastic with our group, attending to all of our needs.  He gave us some good history lessons on the area, gave us a tour of a few pretty cool places (that also happened to be great fishing spots).  We had an 8th grader with us who had never really fished before.  Donny took great care of him, taught him what to do, put him in positions to catch fish (which he did) and now he is addicted and wants to go fishing a lot more often (which is what you want to hear).  We had an amazing time and unforgettable memories.  If I were traveling back down to Ana Maria Island, Captain Donny would be the first guide I called.

Went on the 2 hour fishing trip with our 4 y/o daughter, Captain Donny’s interaction with our daughter was outstanding even though she didnt wake up until the last 20-30 mins. He helped her bring in 2 fish and she wasn’t having it after about 15 mins. From there on he had my fiance and I on the fish . He was very knowledgeable of the fish and their habits and put us on 5-6 snook the last 10-15 mins of our outing. Conditions were not ideal for snook and we still managed to put some in the boat. Excellent experience overall .

Had a great morning fishing with my dad and father in law despite the cooler temperature and strong winds. It was a pleasure having Captain Donny take us out on his boat. He was very thorough and answered all of our questions. We enjoyed talking to him and loved hearing all of his fishing stories. I would definitely recommend Captain Donny to anyone who is looking for a fun time out on the water. My dad & I are talking about booking another trip with him sometime this year. Thanks again Donny!
