Captain Leon did a great job. Took us to catch redfish 1st. Wonderful to be able to sight fish in beautiful clear water. We wanted to try and get some grouper (which we did) and also snook. We don’t have snook in Charleston. My friend hooked one, but unfortunately it came unbuttoned.  Did catch a jack cravelle! Had great conversation! My friend and me are avid fisherman. Got a great recipe for the redfish and trout we brought home.  The only thing I’d have changed is that I like to take pictures of the fish we catch. Captain Leon was a little quick on the trigger to release a few that we would have liked to get pictures of.  I guess I should have spoken up about it. I would definitely hire him again the next time I’m in Crystal River!

We had an amazing fishing trip yesterday with Captain Leon! From the moment we stepped on the boat, he made us feel welcome and took great care of me and my son. Leon was incredibly friendly and patient, especially with my son, which made the experience even more special for us.

He brought us to several different spots to try and catch redfish. Even though luck wasn’t entirely on our side that day, we still managed to catch some fish—two of which were big enough to keep! Captain Leon really went above and beyond, doing everything he could to make sure we had a great time and the best chance at a good catch.

My son absolutely loved the trip, and we both had a lot of fun. We truly recommend this boat and especially Captain Leon for anyone looking for a great day out on the water!

My son & I took a 5-hour trip with Captain Leon on Friday May 16th 2025. The day started out pretty bad, but Captain Leon proved to be very helpful in finding fishing spots. This man put in all his energy and professionalism to make our day great. We caught fish and we had a great time. I would recommend this captain to anyone who wants to go fishing in the back country. He is very knowledgeable. Sir, again, I want to thank you for your efforts and for making my son’s birthday a happy day.

We didn’t have the best of luck catching many fish but I would like to say that Cpt Leon worked extremely hard and did everything he could to get us on the fish we were looking to catch. He was able to find them over and over we just couldn’t get them to bite.  Overall it was a great experience and we will be using this company again in the near future. Thank you for a great day and adding more memories and stories to have with my son.

We had an afternoon trip out of Crystal River on a day with winds gusting to 20 mph. The Captain was drifting a patern while we were using artificial baits and live shrimp with a popping rig. It was difficult casting and working the baits in the fast drift. We did manage to bring 12 trout home for dinner. We caught many more that were short of the legal length. It was a tough but productive day of fishing. The Captain was great working with two of our inexperienced fisherman. He was very patient teaching them and encouraging them when they had a fish on and in the boat. It was a fun afternoon!
