Kevin took me and my family out yesterday and we had a great time.  He is very friendly, full of stories, but most importantly, he was great will all my kids.  Especially my younger son who has some special needs.  He got him into a life jacket and then made him his asst who sat next to him while we went from place to place.  He was 100% determined to get us some fish even though the conditions weren’t great.  We ended up with some nice reds that we took to Fins and they cooked them for us (it was delicious).  But the highlight of the day was my younger son catching a huge red that even Kevin was impressed with!  He’s a great guy, great boat and would love to fish with him again!

As we started planning our trip to Port Aransas, I decided to look for a guided fishing opportunity. The When In Rome Guide Service gave us the chance to plan a fishing trip, but not have to be at a dock at 6am. We chartered an afternoon trip with Captain Kevin. He is personable, easy going, and knows his way around the fishing spots. My wife hooked a large Red Drum on her first dropped line and that was the goal for the day. I wanted her to have a great experience and catch a big fish. Mission accomplished in the first 30 min. Captain Kevin led us to a spot where we hooked, and kept hooking decent sized Sheepshead fish. We are mostly catch and release fisher people, but we kept a few that were of legal size. We had a great day, great experience and really enjoyed meeting and getting to know Captain Kevin. Those are the top 3 things I can say about captain Kevin. My 16 year old son LOVED Kevin! Kevin explained everything well, was extremely helpful, he worked hard to find fish and to make sure we had a great time. We felt comfortable, like we were fishing with an old friend. We caught lots of fish and had a blast doing it. We will definitely book another trip with captain Kevin and When in Roam fishing!!
