I picked a tough day for fishing—rainy and windy—but we found a few barracuda. Captain Fitzroy put in a good effort, and unlike some of the other boats that got to adventurous, we didn’t have to come in due to seasickness.

Nice guys, easy to fish with, and very professional.

First off, fishing doesn’t mean catching.  We understand that as we fish on our own 20+ times a year from the Bahamas to North Carolina.  First warning sign was fishing for wahoo with no shock leader between the inline sinker and the lure.  Second warning sign is no sign of changing tactics (e.g. non-ballyhoo rigs or changing rigs based on lack of bite) based on conditions of barracuda bite.  Third and final was getting the line wahoo of the trip to the boat but instead of leading it to the side of the boat, trying to gaff it off the swim platform with 3 strikes before the leader snapped and the ‘hoo was gone.  Lastly, Fitz and Darren were very kind and accommodating… but can’t say this is the charter to land meat fish regardless of the conditions.
