First off, let me say that Captain William and First Mate Christian were top notch. They spoke English also for those visiting that don’t speak Spanish. The gentlemen are super courteous. Capt William took us to several spots to fish. Christian was quick with loading the hooks with bait for each rod. We hooked 16 fish and were able to reel in 12.5 on board… one got eaten on the way in. LOL.  We caught grouper, snapper, tuna, barracuda, trigger, and Bonita. Used two of our Bonita as bait to catch the grouper and snappers. These guys are professional and know what they’re doing. Will definitely look for them when we visit Cancun again.

My family with 3 young daughters (5, 7, and 10 years old) booked a 4hrs afternoon trip.  My 10yo loves the thrill of fishing and asked to do this trip. We met the captain and his deck hand. They were great older guys — friendly and experienced.  It took about an hour to motor out to the fishing area.  Lovely, smooth ride with crystal clear water part of the way.  At the area we start trolling there wasn’t another fishing boat in sight.  Possibly it was because it was afternoon and few people fish?  The captain and his assistant worked hard to find the fish.  After 30-40 min of fishing, we hit our first barracuda!  My 10yo daughter had a blast reeling it up — a 31 incher.  Shortly after we hit a second barracuda, a smaller one, which I reeled up.  Then we had two consecutive hits which my 10yo daughter reeled both up.  Finally, we had a 5th barracuda that my 10yo also reeled up.  At this point, my father was badly sea sickened.  So I told the caption to call it a day and he obliged.  We headed back to port and ended the day an hour early with 5 barracudas.  The captain and his deck hand were extremely professional and experienced in finding amazing fishes on an afternoon that no one else were on the water fishing.  We took one of the larger fishes back to the resort for dinner (wow — delicious!) while asked for pricing for taxidermy of one of other big ones.  The rest we gave to the crew.  Highly recommended.  We will do again next time in Cancun!

Fantastic day out on the water with the crew. We booked an early morning 4 hour trip and were surprised with a much bigger boat than we expected. We ended up trolling and bottom fishing several miles from shore. Caught 7 Wahoo trolling then used those as bait to catch a barracuda and 4 trigger fish while bottom fishing. The waves out on the open ocean were pretty big but the boat handled them no problem.

Once we got to shore the crew filleted the trigger fish for and took them to the restaurant at the marina where we ate them for lunch.

Great day - couldn’t recommend Family Fishing Cancun more!!
