Party of 5 with no experience shark fishing booked with Captain Ritchie for a shark fishing experience.  Within about 15 minutes of putting two lines in the water, my 18 year old son hooked up with a 9-10 foot tiger shark.  After a 30+ minute hard fight, we got it to the boat. What a magnificent beast!  Afterwards my brother-in-law and nephew landed a pair of blacktips.  Lastly, with time getting short, I had my turn and hooked up on a massive 12-foot tiger.  After fighting hard with this beast for about 20-minutes and stripping line off the reel, it surfaced about 40- yards out from the boat for about 30-seconds.  Having enough, it turned and began stripping more line and unfortunately broke off, apparently cutting the line with its tail.  Overall we were all pleased with everything and the experience did not disappoint.  Highly recommend and we will do it again next time we’re in Orange Beach!

What an amazing experience! Earlier that day we got cancelled by another Captain after waking up 5 and driving 20 min away, we were devastated to say the least. I had never been deep sea fishing and it was on my “bucket list”, we thought there was no way we would find another trip on such short notice. We contacted Russell’s Guide Service, told them what had happened, and they squeezed us in… And let me tell you it was the best experience of my life. The boat is clean, captain is amazing, he videoed and took pics, he knows where to catch the sharks for sure, we had one on the line in less than 7 min. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I took my wife and 2 kids, 12 and 10, out with captain Ritchie. He was great with the kids, put us on some fish, and helped us bring home some great memories. Would recommend him to anyone looking for an experienced captain who knows the area extremely well.

Captain Ritchie is absolutely fabulous! His experience and genuine love of what he does shows in every aspect of the experience, from his immaculately maintained boat and equipment to his knowledge of the fishery. We had different experience levels of anglers in our group and he made us all feel right at home. My grandson had the time of his life! I can’t recommend this trip enough. We’re definitely returning!

We had a great time on our trip. Captain Richard put us on an impressive haul of mackerel. Nearly constant action.  The boat was well equipped and the captain made sure we always had lines in the water and landed our fish. I would highly recommend!
