Enjoyed my fishing experience with Whipsaw! Would recommend to anyone wanting to try Whipsaw out. We caught three fish, including: Marlin, mahi-mahi, and an ono! 10/10
Captain was great, and Ed (first mate) knew everything and everything about these fish.ย Very professional and welcoming at the same time. Felt like I was fishing with buddies. The boat was incredible, and the crew matched. It was a fantastic experience. Caught some great fish and gonna cook them up tonight!ย Highly recommend.
Mate was extremely helpful in educating us on what to expect. Captain kept us out on the water as long as could while be chased in by storms eventually.
We did a full day trip on caught two mahi mahi and two wahoo. The description of our trip stated that we kept what we caught. Yet at the end of our trip, the boat trip, our biggest, mahi-mahi and wahoo for themselves. They cut up the smaller fish for us to take. I did not see anywhere in the charter of description that said this was part of the deal. I donโt mind sharing but it needs to be stated in the charter description. I donโt think it was right for the boat crew to take our biggest catch for themselves after we paid for the trip. I probably wouldnโt recommend this charter unless you ageee with this practice

On the very first page of our listing in the description section of our charter business it states:
โIf you book a private trip, you will be able to keep 50% of your catch under 100 lbs, and it could be cleaned and filleted for you to take home after the trip and have for dinner later. For shared trips, itโs 2 lbs per person.โ
Our 2 pound policy should not have been a surprise coming onboard as it is very clearly stated in our listing. Selling the additional fish is how our crew makes a portion of their income. Yes, we sold the two larger fish (25 lb mahi and 30 pound ono) and filleted our other three fish (20 lb mahi, 25 lb ono, 5 lb shibi).ย I also gave each person five pounds of fish which is well beyond the 2 pounds we normally offer. In the future I hope you review these details a bit more carefully before booking and before leaving a poor review. Bad reviews affect our ability to make a living. We work very hard to take great care of our guests and show them the best experience we can, just as we did with you. Thank you again for fishing with us.
