Captain worked to hard but we only caught 4 red keepers in 8 hrs.
Sorry fishing was slow mabey next time. Capt Steven
Overall from this fishing experience I learned that price doesnโt justify outcome. In order to book this trip my two sons had to work really hard for a year and get straight Aโs in school. After a they managed to succed, I found this charter and booked it because of the good reviews. Now $650 is not cheap at all but I was hoping that the price was justified with the experience so I booked it with confidence. Then on the day of the trip, me and my family went with high hopes for a good day to steven only to be rewarded with one of the worst charter experienceโs in my life. From the moment we got onto the boat, Captain Steven seemed irritated and upset. I thought that he may have been tired but as the day went forward, his bitterness followed. First things first, before when I went on other charters they had their bait ready for the trip and we didnโt waste a moment getting into the action. On the other hand, Steven didnโt have his bait ready and wasted 20 minutes of our paid time getting bait from a shop. That really bothered me but I thought five hours was a lot of time to catch fish so I went with it. Then when he came back with his bait, I found out that he was using mullet which is specifically used for redfish which limited the type of fish we could catch. Then he finally took us to a spot and when he casted the rods, my kids were expecting to be able to hold them and have an interactive experience but steven didnโt let them hold it. Other charters would use live shrimp which any fish would eat and they would take us to spots where my kids could hold the rod and have a fun time constantly having action. Now, when me and my kids sat down to wait for a fish, we were pretty much bored to death for an hour before we finally caught one keeper. After that the fishing was so slow and boring which aggravated me when I saw my kids were not having any fun. Finally we caught one more fish that was illegal to keep and after that nothing. My kids for the most part were pretty sad and when it came to the total price for the trip, $780. Instead of cutting the cost in half like other charters for a bad day of fishing, steven charged full price for one fish kept. I was so confused because I thought I had paid a $130 down payment but no that was apparently only to fishing booker and not steven. So overall the sum of the trip was the fact that I paid $800 for one fish, didnโt have any enjoyment fishing, had an impatient captain, and worst of all, my children who had worked for a year for this trip were heartbroken and devastated.

Miss Barzi Iโm sorry you feel this way. The trip that you reserved was for 4pp at $650 the night before we take the trip you called me and ask if you could take your 7year old which makes 5pp at $725 then you use the CC to pay for the trip (5%) transaction fee and a $30 tip. I fished as hard as I have for every trip even staying out an extra hour because of me getting bait on your time and fishing was slow. But you already knew that was going to happen when you messaged me 2 weeks prior to the trip and said accuweather said that the day of trip would be bad for fishing. Every guide has different ways and places to fish. My style and techniques would not allow them to handle the rod and reel as we were fishing on sea grass. Im sorry that this fishing trip was not up to your standards. When the fish are not biting thereโs nothing we can do about that.

This fishing experience was just horrible. And it wasnโt even because we only caught one fish. We understand that sometimes the fish just are not biting. From the beginning Captain Steven was rude, hard to understand, very irritable, short tempered, not kind or helpful, condescending, very unprofessional and worst of all he cracked a very crude joke in the very beginning in front of my two sons. I could hardly believe my ears! I understand that some people have a crude sense of humor, cuss a little and such but this remark was TOTALLY uncalled for. First of all I am a 56 year old man fishing with my 2 sons (17 and 20). Within the first hour I did have a bite on my line and I jerked the line a little too quick and lost the fish. And Steven said โOh, youโre probably one of those guys who shoot their โWadโ too soon.โ I just sat there stunned and looked puzzled. I could tell he immediately understood that he crossed a line and was very unprofessional. And this was within the first hour or 30 minutes. So maybe it set the tone for the rest of the fishing trip but it turned into a grueling long trip. I almost asked him to take us back because of the way we were treated by him but since we had paid $575 I was still hoping in spite of his attitude that we might catch some fish. And we only caught one fish (which as I said before is not the point at all.) My 17 year old son is very quiet and is highly functioning autistic and Steven was very condescending to him on several occasions like assuming he knew what to do, getting very impatient with him, and rude because my son did not โhold his pole correctly.โ Steven knew this was the first trip like this we had ever taken and we were not professional fishermen, and so, that is why we hired him and paid him $575. This was the biggest waste of money ever. I would not recommend Steven for a fishing guide. Dennis Moseley
