If you want to fish, then First Shot with Capt Mike at the helm is your trip. Mike worked hard to keep us on and targeting all trip long. His vast knowledge of the area and the different species, plus great fishing stories and a clean 20’ center console boat made for a fantastic and memorable fishing trip!

We had an amazing time today fishing with Mike.  We really appreciated all the little things like how he baited our hooks if we wanted, asking if we wanted our picture taken with the big fish and taking it for us, cleaning and filleting our fish at the end and releasing the little bait fish when we were done to replenish the waters (instead of letting them die in the boat tank).  We will definitely use him again next time we are in Destin!

Conditions were less than ideal, high winds and rough seas after a frontal passage. Mike was very forthright about catching possibilities. We decided to fish regardless of the conditions. Mike worked hard to get us in fish and we had a successful day catching king mackerels. Mike was very sociable and willing to share his experiences and knowledge. Felt bad that I didn’t have more cash to tip him more. He worked hard in rough seas to ensure a good trip for us. I have no need to look anywhere... More
