We had a wonderful day out on the water with Captain Garrett of Fernandina Coastal Charters! Our group included two adults and two boys 11 & 15. We caught a good variety of fish, including whiting, a large black drum and another absolutely humongous black drum, catfish, a small seabass, and the highlight of the day for the youngest boy was catching a bonnethead shark. Captain Garrett was super friendly, patient, incredible attentive, and kept everything moving—baiting hooks, keeping lines in the water, and handling all the fish. As a bonus, we enjoyed watching pelicans gather and feed while he cleaned the catch, which was a fun and memorable way to wrap up the adventure.
had a great morning out on the water with Garrett. was extremely patient with the kids and easy to conversate with. Due to the time of year not a lot if fish available but was knowledgeable when certain fish are in season. caught 12 whiting and a huge black drum! would recommend to anyone with kids or just a couple of pals wanting a laid back time.

My son and I committed to a four hour charter. Redfish were our target. We hooked our first within 15 minutes off a jettie and continued to catch a variety of species all morning into the early afternoon until our bait ran out. Garrett, our captain, seemed to be having more fun than us making for an absolutely great day.

Captain Garrett was amazing, he blended right into our group and felt like he’d been on our trip all week. He was great helping out especially when we realed in the BIG ones.
