  great fun, lots of bites

  2 Hour Trip - 12:00 PM on August 5, 2026 • 4 adults

  4 of us fished in a 2 hour trip about 2 miles out to sea. We got about 90 minutes continuous fishing and we caught a load of edible grunts as well as several other species like toadfish, lizard fish, ladyfish (which was one that got away but what a lively sleek fish that thrashes around and leaps out of tbe water), puffer fish, a 17 inch red grouper and a coupe of other different grouper species. very diverse waters. we asked for the best chance to catch edible species and that is exactly what we got. Jason kept us very busy with nonstop rebaiting and handling the continuous catches we were landing and moved short distances when necessary to make sure we never stopped fishing. We eventually bagged about 40 grunts, deceptively strong small fish that he expertly gutted, de-boned and filleted back at shore and we must have caught a total of double that as Jason threw back what we couldnt take home. We left with enough fish to make fish tacos we will cook tonight for 13 people rocking up at our villa in Kissimmee. I would strongly recommend Jason not just for his knowledge, personality and help but for his passion in wanting us to have a great time. His instructions and advice were easy to follow and if you have youngsters who want to experience fishing in the Gulf, this would be perfect, particularly landing a grunt that feels far syronger than its size would imply. All four of us thoroughly enjoyed the trip and we are looking at a 4 hour trip for shark which we ate trying to fit in during our 3 week stay. Hopefully we can. Thanks Jason for a memorable experience.

  Fishing with Jason

  Jason was a great captain for my son and I on our 3 hour fishing experience! A tropical storm came through on the day we were booked to fish, but Jason was very accommodating and we rescheduled for the next day. He took us to several areas, always where the fish were biting. He was very knowledgeable and told us about each fish that we caught. We had many bites and caught over a dozen keepers (mango snapper and grunts) and then wanted to catch a larger fish so changed the location and bait and caught a big red fish! He suggested a local restaurant that we went to close by who prepared our fish for a great meal! We will be back the next time we are in Clearwater!

  July fishing trip

  I booked a trip with captain Jason with Neptune charters and requested to go for my first shark..I took my two younger sons with me and not only did he get us into a shark he was very patient with the kids helping to keep them busy while we were patiently waiting for a shark to take the bait…once we landed the shark he was quick to get us to the next spot where the boys could continuously hook into fish.. I will definitely be using him again in the future and would recommend him to everyone

  I’ve always wanted to fish while on vacation here in Florida. I booked Neptune to take me to the good spots and I was NOT disappointed!!! Captain gave me a quick run down and we were headed out. We arrived at one of his spots and as soon as my line hit the water I got a bite! We fished there for a while and got enough for a couple meals then headed to another one of his spots for some bigger fish. I wasn’t able to land a Tarpon but I sure did see them breaking water all around us. I highly recommend! Definitely a 10 out of 10 and look forward to booking with Captain Jason again!

  A fun family experience

  Our family had an outstanding experience with Neptune Fishing Charters. We were simply hoping to enjoy some time on the water and catch a few strong, exciting fish—but Jason exceeded all expectations. From the moment we started, the action was nonstop. Nearly every time we reeled in a fish, another line was ready to go, and we were hooking into fish again almost immediately. We caught an impressive variety, including hogfish, sheepshead, lizardfish, and grunt, and were even able to keep 20 fish. Jason was an exceptional captain whose top priority was ensuring we had the best possible experience. Whenever the bite slowed, he quickly repositioned the boat, and the difference was immediate—we were back to catching fish at a rapid pace. As a Clearwater native, his knowledge of the local waters and species was evident throughout the trip. He was also fantastic with our youngest son, who has limited saltwater fishing experience. Jason was patient, attentive, and encouraging, teaching him techniques and keeping him engaged the entire time. He stayed one step ahead of everything—whenever bait came off a hook, he was already prepared with more. This was truly our best family fishing excursion, and we look forward to booking with Neptune Fishing Charters again in the future.
