It was a great day on the water. Captain Scott done a wonderful job of us on the fish. There are six on the boat and everybody limited out for the day would recommend past reaper and captain Scott the most anybody.
Our full-day Half Moon Bay fishing charter with Captain Scott was awesome! We had a small group, and Scott took us to multiple rocky reef spots targeting rockfish. The ocean views out there were absolutely gorgeous. Captain Scott is super experienced and knows these waters inside out. Once we hit our daily rockfish bag limit, he didn’t wrap up the trip early. He cruised back and forth along the coast, letting us keep fishing catch-and-release just for fun. We got tons of casts and totally got our fill. This day on the water was well worth every penny. We had such a great, fulfilling time, and we’re already looking forward to another offshore trip with Captain Scott.
Highly recommend Captain Scott and his first mate, Mark! We had such a great day out on the water with our family. We had kids ranging from 5 to 14 years old, and both Scott and Mark were incredibly patient, helpful, and great with all of them. Scott’s boat is beautiful, newer, comfortable, and very well equipped with everything you need for a great day of fishing. Scott clearly knows the waters around Half Moon Bay and knew exactly where to take us. We caught a ton of fish and didn’t even keep everything we caught! We brought in a great variety, including vermilion, tiger, canary and other rockfish, a couple of rosy rockfish, lingcod, and even a sanddab. Scott and Mark were incredibly knowledgeable about the different species we were catching, which made the experience even more fun for the kids. I didn’t quite have my sea legs at first, and Scott was so thoughtful. He even offered me some bubbly soda to help settle my stomach. Thankfully, I shook it off pretty quickly and was able to enjoy the rest of the day. Mark was fantastic. He has been fishing the Half Moon Bay area for decades and has so much knowledge and so many great stories. He was especially wonderful with the kids and incredibly patient with them throughout the trip. He even helped us fillet our catch afterward, which we really appreciated. The boys had an absolute blast, my husband loved it, and it was such a fun experience for our entire family. We came home with plenty of fresh fish and some great memories. We would absolutely book with Captain Scott and Mark again and highly recommend this charter to anyone looking for a fun, family-friendly fishing trip out of Half Moon Bay!
My 12yo son and I had a great time fishing with Captain Scott on the Fish Reaper. He is a conscientious host who worked very hard all to keep our lines in the water and to give us the the best opportunity possible to catch fish. He has clearly put his heart and soul into a state of the art fishing boat - high end equipment and technology on board. He also clearly loves fishing himself and really wants his guests to have fun and catch fish ... he knows the topography of the ocean floor like the back of his hand and was constantly maneuvering to keep us on top of the fish. My son (despite a little sea sickness) was thrilled to reel in fish and is already asking me when we can do another trip. We will be back!
The goal was to catch salmon. However this did not match the goal of the salmon. Despite this, we had a great day on the water catching many other fish. Captain Scott and Robby were professional and responsive. The Fishing Reaper is a great boat and everything about the day was professional. We will book again.
Family of 6, 3 generations from age 11 to 77. We had a great time, everything was absolutely perfect. We each caught our limit, it was the most successful fishing trip I've ever had. Definitely would recommend.
