Look no further!! Astonishing Ling Cod catch!

What a fantastic trip! We will definitely be back. Lamont took us right out to where the fish are at and we limited out on Ling Cod (up to 25lb!) and Rockfish. Do yourself right and book your charter with Captain Lamont, you will not be disappointed!

    (6 Hour Trip)

    Highlight of vacation!

We had so much fun fishing today! Captain Robert was on time, had a plan and the right equipment to execute it. He was really good helping my kids learn how to land fish. We landed 13 fish, kept 6, and couldn’t be hapoier with the experience. He even cleaned our fish and gave us ice to pack them in for the trip home.

    Top tier experience

Hands down the best charter trip we have ever booked. Lamont has a special thing going on here. Spotless and gorgeous boat with excellent gear that he obviously takes great pride in. Lamont was amazing, showing my nephew how to fish and fish with confidence. It was like fishing on a good friend's boat. What a trip!

((Shared) Rockfish / Lingcod / Crab)

    excellent trip in tough conditions

caught out limit of Ling-Cod and more Dugeness Crabs than we could carry. Rainy and windy on high seas, but the boat and Captain Andy made it tolerabe and certainly rewarding. in

O Lingcod ribolovu

Veličina
10 to 35lbs
Vrednost hrane
Dobro
Game Quality
Nisko

Lingcod are delicious, slow and massive bottom-dwelling fish which may be thought of as Groupers of the Pacific Northwest.

Somewhat scarier than Groupers, their Latin name "ophiodon elongatus" translates to long snaketooth, and portrays the species aptly.

How big

Although Lingcod can grow to about 60'' and 130lbs, the average catch comes in between 10 and 35lbs.

Distribution

They inhabit cold waters of the eastern Pacific Ocean, ranging from the Gulf of Alaska to Southern California, with the highest concentrations being off British Columbia. They migrate closer to shore for spawning in October and (males) stay there until March.

How to catch

They are mostly found at depths up to 350ft, but have been harvested as deep as 1400ft. Usually a commercial bycatch, not many anglers target these fish recreationally. However, they can be taken on heavy jigs up to 700ft of depth and will readily strike herring, rockfish, Cod, hake, Flounder, crustaceans, octopus and their own species.

Good to eat?

They should be bled and iced immediately and consumed fresh, as the high quality flesh degrades rapidly. It can have a pigment dying it turquoise, which doesn't damage the food value and disappears once it's cooked.
