July 28, 2023 – Cabo Fishing Report – 2 Dorado, 1 Kept, 1 Released – 32' Luhrs Blue Star – Captain Jorge – 5 Hours – 2 Fish
Amy and one guest departed F Dock aboard the 32' Luhrs Blue Star at 6:00 AM for a five-hour private charter with Captain Jorge.
The morning produced two dorado. The original charter record provides an additional detail that is useful for an accurate fishing report: one dorado was retained while the second was released.
The dredge was also included in the fishing program, and lunches were provided for both guests.

Two Anglers Create a Focused Cabo Charter Fishing Experience
A private charter with only two guests has a different dynamic from a large family or corporate group.
Amy and her companion had Blue Star and the crew dedicated to their fishing morning.
Captain Jorge had five hours to work with, including the time required to travel from F Dock, locate productive water, fish and return to Cabo San Lucas.
Within that window, both anglers had dorado action.
A Dredge Strengthens This Cabo Yacht Fishing Presentation
Amy's booking specifically included the dredge.
A fishing dredge is designed to create a larger underwater visual target by imitating a concentrated group of baitfish.
Rather than relying solely on individual baits in the trolling spread, the crew can use the dredge to create the appearance of more life moving behind the boat.
Predatory fish investigating the presentation may move closer to examine the apparent bait concentration.
Captain Jorge incorporated that technique during the five-hour morning aboard Blue Star.
Dorado Define This Cabo Fishing Charter Report
Both fish recorded during the charter were dorado.
Dorado are one of Cabo's most recognizable warm-water offshore species. Their speed, surface action and dramatic coloration make them especially exciting as they approach the boat.
Amy's group encountered two during the morning.
Because only two anglers were aboard, two dorado provided meaningful action during what was deliberately a small private charter.
One Fish Kept and One Released on This Cabo Yacht Charter
The catch record provides unusually useful detail about what happened to each dorado.
One was retained.
One was released.
This is important because accurate historical fishing reports should not assume whether a legal-quality fish was kept simply because it appears in the catch total.
Blue Sky Cabo releases marlin, roosterfish and juvenile fish. Legal-quality dorado may be retained when appropriate and when guests choose to keep their catch.
On this particular morning, the outcome of both fish is documented.
Five Hours Complete This Cabo Charter Fishing Morning
Blue Star's scheduled fishing window ran from 6:00 AM until 11:00 AM.
A five-hour trip requires the captain to balance fishing range against available time carefully.
Every mile traveled away from Cabo San Lucas eventually requires return travel as well.
Captain Jorge completed the trip within that schedule while producing two dorado opportunities for Amy and her guest.
Lunch was included for both anglers, and fishing licenses were included as part of the charter.
