About FishingBooker

FishingBooker is the world’s leading online marketplace for booking fishing charters—trusted by anglers in over 100 countries. As we expand our footprint into new markets for both fishing and boating, we’re committed to delivering a fully localized experience that feels native in every language and region we serve.

Role Overview

We’re looking for a handsโ€‘on Localization Specialist to bring the FishingBooker and BoatBooker products to anglers and boaters in their own language. You will own our endโ€‘toโ€‘end translation process, from AIโ€‘generated drafts to inโ€‘product quality checks by native speakers. You’ll partner with our Product, Marketing, and Customer Support teams to finalize our roll-out of German, Russian, Serbian, Italian and French in Q4 2025, then scale to 15+ languages during 2026.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Planning

    • Define and execute our localization roadmap: initial five languages → 15+ by end of 2026.

    • Select, onboard, and manage relationships with nativeโ€‘speaker reviewers and freelance linguists.

  • Process & Quality

    • Integrate AIโ€‘powered translation tools (e.g. LLMโ€‘based draft generators) into our workflow.

    • Design and maintain style guides, glossaries, and QA checklists for consistency.

    • Schedule and oversee regular inโ€‘product reviews to validate UI strings, help articles, and marketing copy.

  • Crossโ€‘Functional Collaboration

    • Partner with Product and Engineering to ensure translations are shipped smoothly (via i18n frameworks, TMS integrations).

    • Work with Support & Marketing to localize emails, pushโ€‘notifications, and ads.

    • Gather feedback from native speakers and end users to continuously refine tone, terminology, and cultural relevance.

  • Measurement & Improvement

    • Define KPIs (e.g. translation turnaround time, inโ€‘product error rate, reviewer satisfaction).

    • Monitor quality metrics and report progress to stakeholders on a monthly & quarterly cadence.

    • Iterate on processes and tools to increase automation where possible while maintaining high quality.

What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years in a localization or internationalization role, ideally in a tech/startup or SaaS environment

  • Handsโ€‘on experience with TMS platforms and AIโ€‘assisted translation tools

  • Proven ability to manage a network of freelance linguists/native speakers, ensuring timely reviews

  • Solid understanding of software localization best practices (i18n frameworks, characterโ€‘limit constraints, RTL/l10n testing)

  • Excellent projectโ€‘management skills; comfortable juggling multiple languages and delivery deadlines

  • You live in Belgrade or within a reasonable commute of Belgrade, as you are expected to work from our office in Novi Beograd for at least 4 days a week.

  • Near-native level and strong communication skills in English; fluency in at least one target language (German, Russian, Italian, or French) is a plus

Niceโ€‘toโ€‘Haves

  • Background in UX writing or copy editing for localized products

  • Experience with continuous localization workflows (CI/CD integrations)

  • Familiarity with productโ€‘marketing localization (ad campaigns, SEO)

  • If you're not a Serbian native speaker, working knowledge of Serbian is a plus
