Shane was exceptional. Departed quickly, made a quick stop to pick up some bait, fish and crab. Boys gotta learn the finer points of cast netting and snagging crabs. We were able to get our hands pretty quickly and caught a wide variety of fish. my seven and nine-year-old are fishing, fanatics, and called this their best fishing day ever. Dozens of fish, pinfish, bluefish, sea trout, red fish, fine tooth, shark, bonnet head shark, I’m sure I’m missing a couple. Shane was fantastic with the boys. Highly recommend.

Came across Barrier Island Fishing Charters while looking for an experience I could share with my son and father. I was responded to within 15 minutes of booking the charter by the Captain himself confirming the reservation and reassuring that my son would have a great time catching some salt water species. Boy did he! We caught over ten species including sting rays and sharks!! My dad couldn't make it and my wife (who hates fish) decided to go. Captain Shane was awesome, always having bait ready and did the dirty work my wife hates. She ended up with the catch of the day and we left with enough trout to share with family on our return. Shane called us by our names the whole trip and celebrated every catch we made like it was his own. He has a wealth of knowledge and experience and I couldn't have been happier with this service. If you are reading these reviews to make a decision, don't waste anymore time. This is the one!

Wow Ian (Nick)! Thank you for such a kind review! You guys were a ton of fun and I think we turned Sobrina into a fisher Lady! You guys were a pleasure to spend the morning with and I hope to take you guys again next time you are in town. Thanks again for your business and taking the time to write such a complimentary review!
We had a charter with Captain Jason Watkins. We were a group of 3 on a guys trip. We were looking for a good experience and wanted to catch fish. We are from the mid west and had lake fishing experience. He is definitely experienced and knows the area and where the fishing spots are located. He was prepared with fresh bait, poles and equipment. He was a very good teacher also and showed us how to be successful. He guaranteed we would catch fish and we did!! Our group of three caught over 30 fish including the day’s record 31” red fish. My group and I enjoyed our time and would highly recommend Captain Jason Watkins and his first mate, Wahoo to anyone looking to catch fish is IOP!!!

Our boat had to go to the shop for a quick repair so I couldn't take you but I knew you would have a great experience with Jason. Wish I could have taken you. Sounds like they were hungry!
We enjoyed ourselves. Capt. Joe was great! Very friendly and helpful. Answered all of our questions. Unfortunately, he can't contol what gets on or hooks and/or when. W caught nothing we could keep or eat.... but we did catch a wild menagerie! Hammerhead shark, toad fish, sea bass, red fish, several other species of shark, and an atlantic stingray. Joe had all of our bait we tried live fish, chunk and shrimp. Ther were several novices in our group. My wife had a great time. Of course she caught the biggest fish.

Great to hear Bernard! I knew Joseph would take great care of you. Sounds like a fun day catching a variety of fish! We hope you will come again!
Captain Joseph was great, great fishing guide(all the kids caught different types if fish and sharks). Even gave us some history and ecologically lessons. highly recommnend this charter group.

I knew you would be in great hands with Captain Joseph! We hope you will come back next time you are in town!
