Capt Cush Calmwater Charters specializes in exciting adventures in and around Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. Capt. Cush has been fishing in the area for almost 30 years now and is familiar with all the tried-and-true methods that work best in the local waters. The Boat is already in the water and has private parking available to make your trip easy and fun wothout the hassle of meeting at a boat ramp ans trying to find parking. You will enjoy the easy access and 5 minute run to fishing .
Your day out will take you fishing inshore for Flounder, Redfish, Black Drum, and Speckled Trout. Capt. Cush matches the tackle with the target and never stays 'undergunned'. To feel the fight of the fish, you will be provided with 10-20 lb light tackle gear as well as spinning gear. Even if the fish are being tricky, your guide will use decades of experience to make them bite!
Apart from fishing, you will be able to take in all the natural beauty of the area with no chance of seasickness and a great chance to see a side of the Grand Stand many people don't know about. Just think of all the bald eagles, otters, sea turtles, dolphins, and egrets playing in these backwaters while you hunt for the catch!
On longer trips, when time allows, there are restaurants on the waterway for you to break up the day and have lunch. You can pull the boat up to a secluded beach and stretch your legs and shell hunt.
Capt Cush Calmwater Charters will take you out aboard a 25' Carolina Skiff boat. It is a spacious vessel with a 2025
200 HP quiet and fast Yamaha 4-stroke engine and plenty of fishing space for up to 6 anglers. The boat is rigged with a Garmin GPS, a wireless trolling motor, a livewell and other professional accessories.
All trips come with the use of Penn and Shimano gear, as well as licenses, lures, or bait. If the conditions allow, your catch will be cleaned at the end of the trip. Cash payments are preferred, and there's a 4% processing fee for Visa and MasterCard.

He knew where to take us to catch some awesome fish (we caught 2 croskers, a pig fish, a flounder and a trout all on a two hour trip!). We also saw a sea turtle! We are not experienced with handling a boat and are beginner fishers so it was perfect to have Captain Cush to take us around the inlet, as well as baiting and casting our fishing rods! We loved this exercrsion and would recommend Captain Cush to anyone!

Half Day Trip (AM) on June 25, 2025 • 6 adults • 4 childrenCaptain Tom took us out for an excellent morning on the water where all the kids and adults had a blast. We had our first experience with a fish that was too big to keep when we hooked two red fish at the same time. One made it into the boat while the other got bit in half by a shark before breaking the surface. We managed to snag a few sharks as well including a big spinner shark that gave us an excellent display before slipping the hook. Nothing to keep and eat but great stories. The too big Red fish gains at least 5 pounds every time a boy tells the story.

Captain Cush was very knowledgeable on the areas to fish and we had a 18inch keeper on the boat within 15 mins of being on the water. Captain Cush showed us the tips and tricks for each area we fished and reeled in multiple flounder and was able to put 5 keepers in the cooler and made for a couple great sandwiches that afternoon! Will definitely be booking again next year.

He had so much information about the area that he shared with us. We fished in the inlet and went out into the ocean. Captain Tom had everything we needed, set up all the rods and helped us the whole time. We caught several different types of fish. It was a great experience for us and we'll definitely do it again!

My family of four enjoyed a wonderful time exploring the waters of Murrell’s Inlet. Captain Cush was perfect! Lovely fishing adventure for four ladies who were looking for a boat ride and a little fishing. Captain Tom was so accommodating and we caught many fish. 
Bite was a bit slow but Tom kept at it and got us on some fish. We fished back creeks, the jetty, and some of the rivers for trout, red fish, flounder, and whatever was biting. Had some luck with croaker and got on a pretty good size shark. Both of my teen girls had a good time so would book with again.
slower day that hoped for, but Capt knew his spots and gets you reel in hand asap
Thanks Chris enjoyed having you out there and the conversation. that Flounder we caught in first 5 minutes was a fake-out. slower day than we want . We had a couple possible missed fish opportunities but , come on back and we should get alot more shots than we had yesterday. Hope we can donit again and show you Murrells Inlet when she makes you a believer.
