Capt Cush Calmwater Charters specializes in exciting adventures in and around Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. Capt. Cush has been fishing in the area for almost 30 years now and is familiar with all the tried-and-true methods that work best in the local waters.  The Boat is already in the water and has private parking available to make your trip easy and fun wothout the hassle of meeting at a boat ramp ans trying to find parking.  You will enjoy the easy access and 5 minute run to fishing .

Your day out will take you fishing inshore for Flounder, Redfish, Black Drum, and Speckled Trout. Capt. Cush matches the tackle with the target and never stays 'undergunned'. To feel the fight of the fish, you will be provided with 10-20 lb light tackle gear as well as spinning gear. Even if the fish are being tricky, your guide will use decades of experience to make them bite!

Apart from fishing, you will be able to take in all the natural beauty of the area with no chance of seasickness and a great chance to see a side of the Grand Stand many people don't know about. Just think of all the bald eagles, otters, sea turtles, dolphins, and egrets playing in these backwaters while you hunt for the catch!

On longer trips, when time allows, there are restaurants on the waterway for you to break up the day and have lunch. You can pull the boat up to a secluded beach and stretch your legs and shell hunt.

Capt Cush Calmwater Charters will take you out aboard a 25' Carolina Skiff boat. It is a spacious vessel with a 2025
200 HP quiet and fast Yamaha 4-stroke engine and plenty of fishing space for up to 6 anglers. The boat is rigged with a Garmin GPS, a wireless trolling motor, a livewell and other professional accessories.

All trips come with the use of Penn and Shimano gear, as well as licenses, lures, or bait. If the conditions allow, your catch will be cleaned at the end of the trip. Cash payments are preferred, and there's a 4% processing fee for Visa and MasterCard.

Memories Made in Murrell’s Inlet
Boat ride / Marsh exploration on July 22, 20262 adults2 children

My family of four enjoyed a wonderful time exploring the waters of Murrell’s Inlet. Captain Cush was perfect! He knew where to take us to catch some awesome fish (we caught 2 croskers, a pig fish, a flounder and a trout all on a two hour trip!). We also saw a sea turtle! We are not experienced with handling a boat and are beginner fishers so it was perfect to have Captain Cush to take us around the inlet, as well as baiting and casting our fishing rods! We loved this exercrsion and would recommend Captain Cush to anyone!

Relaxing morning in the creeks with Captain Tom
Half Day Trip (AM) on August 6, 20263 adults

Bite was a bit slow but Tom kept at it and got us on some fish. We fished back creeks, the jetty, and some of the rivers for trout, red fish, flounder, and whatever was biting. Had some luck with croaker and got on a pretty good size shark. Both of my teen girls had a good time so would book with again.

weather at the scheduled time was poor, the captain adjusted the cast off time to later in day, turned out to be perfect weather and tides, caught flounder and spot tail

Capt Tom 'Cush' Cushman has been a licensed USCG Captain since 1994 and has fished Murrells Inlet SC since 1997. Started out with a bamboo fishing pole as a 1st birthday gift when I came home from the hospital. It's been an addiction and fascination ever since. Went to Key West on spring break in college and saw a commercial Spearfisherman unloading his catch of Grouper and Snapper and Lobster at the Halfshell Raw bar as my friends were holding me upside down over a dock so I could get a better look at the Tarpon swimming around the marina. I begged him to take me out diving for Grouper the next day. He did and after going back the next couple spring breaks, I moved to Key West and worked spearfishing until getting lost at sea in a heavy current during a tropical storm. After that I worked as a mate on the big Sportfishing boats until I got my captain's license and started working as a guide catching Tarpon and Sailfish on 20 lb Spin as well as Blackfin Tuna. Seemed like fishing had a long future in it for me. I love the pull of the Redfish here in the Carolinas and the excitement of a Flounder 'thumping' a bait or lure . Murrells inlet is a beautiful place with the Sea Turtle migration in the Spring and numerous birds of prey stalking baitfish in the Marsh, and the year round Dolphin pods that frequent our inlet and beach . Come on out and let me show you
