Southern Saltwater Charters is a veteran-owned and operated business based in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. Trips are run by owner Perrin Wood who is eager to help you catch fish and to have a great time doing it. From throwing a cast net or tying a knot, to catching and cleaning your own fish, he is glad to teach you what he knows. No matter your skill level, welcome aboard!

You will fish aboard a BX 22' Sea Hunt BR originally built in 2017. Powered by a 200 HP Yamaha engine, this craft has a maximum cruising speed of 42 knots. There is room on board for four passengers to fish in comfort though we do accommodate 5.

While casting lines in the waters surrounding Murrells Inlet you can target a wide variety of species. From Flounder, Redfish, Black Drum, Sheepshead, Summer/Winter Trout to King/Spanish Mackerel, Cobia, Barracuda, Shark, and more, your captain will see to it that you bring home a catch to remember.

You can bring your family aboard for 1/2 day, 3/4 day or 8hr day chasing down as many fish as you can. You may keep your catch and the Captain will provide ziplocs and show you how to clean them as well.

Southern Saltwater Charters provides bottled water along with gear by Shimano, Daiwa and Florida reels. All you have to bring is your own drinks and snacks. Don't forget your hat and shades! Come aboard today for great family fishing and a trip to remember!

Great experience!
Half Day Trip (AM) on July 27, 20264 adults1 child

We had a great time fishing with Captain Perrin. We had a group of five and we all caught fish, including red, shark, flounder, and sting ray. The captain was very knowledgable of the waters, and did a great job putting us on fish. My 16 year old nephew caught his first red (28 inches) and my 12 year old nephew was very excited to reel in a sting ray. The captain went above and beyond making sure we had fish to take home and even gave us some tackle and bait we needed for fishing off the beach for the remainder of our trip. Would highly recommend!

Great Trip
Half Day Trip (AM) on July 30, 20262 adults1 child

I highly recommend Captain Perrin. He is very knowledgeable and informative on what his plans were going to be for the day. He took me, my wife, and our 11 year old son out today. My son got the skunk out of the boat early with his first Cobia. He then proceeded to catch another first with a Flounder. We ended the day with 6ft Sandbar shark whch was a blast, and quite the workout! Captain Perrin is a great option if you plan on getting a charter in the Murrels Inlet area.

Captain Perrin is top notch!
Half Day Trip (AM) on July 1, 20263 adults1 child

The captain is what makes or breaks this type of experience. Dont waste your time with someone who doesnt have experience in the area. Captain Perrin is a native who knows the waters, the best spots, and will set you up for success. Great for all ages. We wont book anyone else in the future.
