The waters south of South Africa are known to be fantastic fishing grounds for a variety of gorgeous local species. St Francis Safaris Fishing Charters builds up on that amazing foundation – you just have to join them and see why this area has earned its fishing reputation!

You will fish from their outstanding 30' long boat, manufactured by Christy Cat. She's powered by twin Yamaha engines, providing a total of 250 HP to propel you across the deep blue. She's quite spacious too, allowing for up to 14 anglers to fish. A set of outriggers is on board, so you can widen your reach when trolling. Comfort isn't ignored either, as you have a toilet, kitchen, and other amenities to help you rest up between exciting fights. Air conditioning is also available in the cabin.

Captain Tim Christy will be your guide and assistant on this exciting fishing adventure. He's an avid teacher and can cater to any angler, from the first-timers to the experienced sea wolves. He'll take you fishing for a variety of local species such as the Geelbek, Kob, Garrick, Snoek, Mahi Mahi, Yellowtail Amberjack, and Yellowfin and Skipjack Tunas. You'll have the chance to try out a variety of fishing techniques with him like popping, jigging, spinning, and drift fishing with light or heavy tackle, fly fishing, bottom fishing, handline, or trolling.

The crew will clean and fillet your catch, so gratuity is very appreciated. The charter will supply you with all required equipment. The boat is disabled accessible and St Francis Safaris Fishing Charters invites anglers of all tastes and skill levels to join them!

I have been involved in the fishing industry since childhood, my father Dom Christy was the founder of the Calamari industry in South Africa and a pioneer fishing charter operator in the Eastern Cape. It was natural for me to follow in his footsteps as I have always loved the ocean, its challenges and early on set about to achieve landing and recording world records in targeted species. I worked my way through the ranks as an Eastern Cape fisherman and then on to a National level representing SA at various world cup events winning gold along the way. I am a registered IGFA Captain and Weight Master and am currently Vice President of the Eastern Cape Fishing Association. I am blessed to have the opportunity to fish locally and internationally with some of the leading fishing gurus of our time. I am incredibly lucky that I have been able to establish the busy St Francis Safaris Fishing Charters business whereby I am able to offer my experience daily and treat guests to the best fishing.
