Bass Flats & Beyond - Stuart
Bass Flats & Beyond is a locally-owned charter service. If you're looking for the perfect inshore trip, fishing the shallows of Stuart, FL is as good as it gets, and Capt, John Larsen knows all the best spots to visit. Snook, Tarpon, and a host of other inshore gamefish lurk in these murky waters, just waiting for a hook to come their way.
Spend the day fishing aboard a 22' Sterling flats boat. This incredible vessel is as at home in the Indian River Lagoon as she is the local lakes. She is equipped with Garmin electronic to lock you on the best spots around, and can cruise at staggering speeds to make sure you waste no time getting to them.
You have a range of trips to choose from for your day. With options for anything from two to eight hours on the water, any schedule or budget is catered for. You can also pick your target species from one of the longest lists you're ever likely to see.
Tarpon, Trout, and Snook top the bill, but you can also find Mangrove Snappers, Spanish Mackerel, Sheepshead, Jack Crevalle, Pompano, and so much more. Capt. John specializes in light tackle and fly fishing. He provides quality conventional tackle and welcomes fly anglers to bring their own gear along, too.
All trips come with tackle, lures, and licenses as standard. Bait can be caught on the trip, or can be purchased ahead of time for a small surcharge. At the end of your trip, all your catch will be cleaned and filleted for you, so remember to bring a big cooler!

Overall fun time and good experience, knowledgeable captain with great equipment. Will do it again!

Ahoy, John! Thrilled you had a great time aboard and appreciated the gear and expertise. It was a pleasure having you sail with us—looking forward to your next adventure. Anchors aweigh! 🚤
John was quick to respond to texts beforehand, providing clear instructions of meeting place and time. He explained techniques clearly and thoroughly. He worked hard to successfully get us on fish. His equipment and boat were in top shape. Between the fishing and general conversation, this was a very enjoyable trip. Wouldn’t hesitate to book again.
Great boat Fantastic gear but we just did not have good luck today
John is great. Fantastic boat. Really knows the flats!

I enjoyed having you guys. Hope to see you again.

My dad owned a dive shop in Jupiter. I got familiar with with the reefs and wrecks spearfishing when I was very young. Later on, at UCF, I was on the Bass fishing team and won some tournaments. I'd say that ever since then Bass fishing is my absolute favorite. I got intimately familiar with both freshwater and saltwater fishing in Florida.
