X-Spearmint Sportfishing
X-Spearmint Sportfishing offers great trips for all, from children who have never fished, to experienced anglers. Capt Ryan gained his experience fishing the waters of the Outer Banks of North Carolina. He now brings that experience to Stuart, Florida.
His trips are a great way for the younger generation to get involved with fishing. Capt. Ryan will teach them step-by-step how to fish. His 4-hour afternoon trip is perfect for children that are not early risers. This is a great introduction to saltwater fishing as the trip normally stays within a few miles of the beach and within sight of land. You could expect to catch a variety of species from Snook to Mackerel.
His longer trips offer a lot of flexibility, dependent on the sea conditions, so you are able to target your trophy fish. You can expect to hook Sailfish, Mahi Mahi, Blackfin Tuna and King Mackerel. Bottom fishing would include fishing for snappers and tilefish. His custom carolina express was built for charter fishing with 600 HP the boat cruises at 25 knots. This means more time fishing, less time traveling, great for all trips!
His boat also boasts a full tower and upper station for sighting fish. This is great for sight fishing for Cobia and sighting birds offshore. It has all the navigational equipment to get you on the fish fast, including a fishfinder and radar. Coupled with Capt. Ryan's knowledge, the speed of the boat, and the fishfinder, it's no wonder that customers are on the fish fast, with plenty of time to hook in their catch.
The boat also comes with many home comforts, such as an enclosed private restroom, and plenty of storage in the bow to keep all your belongings dry. There are 2 large ice-boxes on board, one for the fish you catch, and one for your drinks and food. You are welcome to bring any snacks you fancy for your trip including adult beverages, but please remember to bring plenty of water!
Capt. Ryan looks forward to welcoming you aboard!

Booked a 1/2 day outing and from the bet there was great communication from the skipper. If not for his follow up messages we would’ve missed our trip since I had the days wrong! We left the dock on time on an excellent vessel and along the way the captain let us know what we could expect due to conditions. We were prepared to have a slow day but once at the spot we started catching fish immediately. He gave great direction and had us fighting fish in no time. We caught lots of Spanish mackerel and bluefish. He got us a great guy to meet us at the dock and clean our catch, too. Great day, great trip. Will definitely book again and highly recommend Captain Ryan and the X-Spearmint!

First time for my family trying this type of trip. Have been coming to the outer banks for years a kept saying "we should try that.". This year we finally did. We were very pleased. The captain knew we new to this. He took the time to explain the equipment, talk basic fishing strategy and overall tactics. He likes what he is doing and it comes through in his actions. The boat is clean, well maintained and he really knows how to operate it. He found fish for us without any problem. Ribbon and mackerel. He knew the waters. Saw an 1800's ship wreck and other area history. Sea turtles and dolphins filled in the time between fish on. He even told us about the Air force and Marine jets flying over. My oldest wanted to know about the engines and navigation equipment and the captain was willing to answer all his questions. Overall, this was a really pleasant trip. We learned, we had fun and we caught a fair number of fish. I will recommend this boat and captain to my friends.
