Talking Fish - 38’ Topaz Express 

The crew was very nice and helpful and went above and beyond expectations. The captain put us on fish.

We fished on Friday 8/2/2024 with Captain Arturo and Orandeo and Jose. The captain was fantastic, he met our family on the hot when we arrived and asked what we were looking to catch and what type of fishing we wanted. We had our family of four on the boat “Talking Fish” and since my children have only fished a few times, we decided to fish on the reef for Tuna and Skip Jack. 20 minutes to the reef and within 45 hours we had multiple yellow tail (20 pounds) in the boat. The crew switched to drop fishing for Cobia and Red snapper. We love three times after hooking a black tip reef shark and bull shark. More trolling for medium / small sized yellowfin hooking up 5 rods for the four of us at the same time. After that we went farther offshore for billfish. Truly one of the best days on the water I have ever had for a half day and genuinely, the loose attentive and accommodating crew I have ever had the privilege to charter with. I cannot recommend Arturo and his crew enough.

This trip was amazing, starting with the boat. It was able to take on whatever was coming at us. The crew was amazing. The captain gave us a very welcoming greeting even though we couldn’t speak due to his time spent on the tower. The mates were very very nice. They are willing to talk and have us some good stories. On top of the the gear used was in good shape and was ready for what we wanted to catch. Although we wanted billfish we were able to snag some Mahi Mahi. The mates filleted the fish right in front of us and made a platter which was phenomenal eating. As well what they supply was plenty enough to fill the 4 of us with plenty left over. Overall i recommend this charter to all people and i would do this again anytime i get the chance.

Great crew great owners Caught beautiful sailfish and even stopped for an hour to catch dinner so much fun thank you all very much would for sure do it again and recommend to any one. Also nice big boat to handle waves Thx again Dan and Ann

Capt. Randy and mates Javier and Max were awesome. We have had bill fishing on our bucket list for a long time and wanted to give it a run while in Costa Rica. We caught 5-6 grouper for dinner right off the bat and spent the rest of the time trolling for bill fish. Javier/Max were constantly changing baits and keeping any eye out for any billfish. We had a few hit the bait but short struck it and didn’t hook up. The last 10 minutes of the trip we finally got lucky and landed a 95 inch 85lb sailfish! Perfect ending to a fantastic day knocking this fish off the bucket list. Highly recommend.

We went out with the primary goal of fishing for dinners during our stay, and the mission was accomplished. When the captain says he can guarantee grouper on the Rock fishing, he means it. The only mildly disappointing thing was that our meat had bones in it, but that could just be inevitable and is no reason not to book this charter. Highly recommend, and would book again next time I’m in town.

Landed 5 out of 6 hookups on sails and still had time to put some grouper in the boat for dinner. Javier and Victor were top notch deck mates. We had a blast.

WOW WOW WOW! My usual guys were not available this trip. I did the homework, read the reviews and looked at the ratings. Captain Randy did not disappoint. He lived up to all of it. I've gone out with a lot of Tamarindo and Playa Flamingo guides and pretty much knew what to expect. My expectations for this time of year were some sailfish maybe mahi maybe yellowfin. Captain Randy also did his homework and said the fish were not patterning like the typical and were going to try some other areas. He was right. He put us on a 220 LB blue marlin early and an early afternoon 260 LB blue marlin. We also had a broken off blue marlin and a broken off sail in the late afternoon. Banner day! Captain Randy also managed to find the yellow fins but the bait ball was too scattered. Unfortunately, no luck there. I would absolutely recommend Captain Randy, he will get you on the fish!

We saw hundreds of dolphins on our way to catching 3 yellowfin tuna, then we saw 2 orca whales before heading to shallower water where we caught 12 red snapper! Javier and Arturo made sure our day was great!!!
