The Talking Fish has 2 fast 671 Detroit diesels and lots of comfortable seating in the shade. Bring your music and hook it up to our sound system.
Capt. Randy Wilson and Willy Vega rotate captain duties on this boat. Our mates are Eithel Rosales and Norman Jaen, and Willy often mates when he is not captaining the boat. Willy and Norman both speak excellent English.
Fishing is their passion and they work hard so you’ll have the experience of a lifetime!

On the Pacific coast of Costa Rica since the 1970’s, Randy Wilson pioneered the sportfishing in this area with TAMARINDO SPORTFISHING. Located close to the deep water, Tamarindo is the perfect base of operation. Spectacular year ‘round fishing for sailfish, marlin, dorado, yellowfin tuna, roosterfish, cubera snapper, wahoo and assorted other inshore species are all accessible with a short run time. Spend your day fishing, not running towards the fish!

All equipment is top of the line with Penn International and Shimano tackle. We are happy to accommodate novices and families, as well as experienced anglers.

Conservation of the resource is important and Randy has developed techniques to make sure the billfish are released unharmed. With edible fish, we are happy to keep your catch filleted and on ice for the day so you can have it cooked at one of Tamarindo’s many superb restaurants.

Grew up in Miami, started fishing as a toddler! Fished and surfed all through high school and college. I moved to Costa Rica in 1974. Saw the incredible fishing here and grew my business from one small boat to now a fleet of 3 with local bilingual captains. After fishing here for 40 years, I am still excited about sharing the experience with anglers from all over the world and giving them the trip of a lifetime.

There were no surprises, everything was as advertised and carried out very efficiently, from payment, getting to the boat and overall fishing experience.  The captain and crew very professional and friendly, did a great job setting up the rigs, setting the lines and getting to the fishing grounds.  The action was a little slow, we did manage to bring in a large 35 pound Dorado and a 10 to 12 pound Bonito.

We will definitely come back for a second shot at the big fish.

Captain and crew worked real hard at helping us land 3 sailfish, great time had by all, from the initial contact, booking, questions and the fishing.
